New Villagers in Sanibel
 

Hi All,
My husband and I closed on our home in Sanibel in July. We are moving there the 1st of October. Yeah!!!!! I retire in two weeks and can't wait. We are moving from Miami, Fl. Looking forward to a change of pace!

I have been viewing the Talk of the Villages Blog since May. It has been such a wonderful help to me. I am so glad that we have this great forum. Spread the word. :BigApplause:

We live in Amelia and love it here. I also retired just before moving here and it was a whirlwind for me. No time to get into a retirement slump like you here that some people do. I am too busy now to ever think about that happening to me now.

We are in Sanibel for about 4 months now and love it. We are on Kent Lane ,can you say what street you are on? I would love to reply and manybe send you some fun information about our area and the social groups if you like. This is a great group on this blog and you can find out so much about living here..

We closed on our house in Sanibel in May. Looking forward to being there around the end of September. Looking forward to meeting all of our neighbors. Already meet several and what a great bunch. See you all soon!

My wife and I too will be Sanibel residents, but not until January (or sooner we hope). Our design team appointment isn't until Oct. 30th. We are currently renting in Duval for the rest of the year. To all you Sanibel residents;- In a previous post, there was mention that there are 3 separate Sanibel social clubs.... our lot is on Long Leaf Lane in Unit 177. Which Sanibel social club is associated with that section of Sanibel, or is there more than one? How can we contact them because we might want to meet our neighbors in a social setting well in advance of our closing date.

I believe you will be in the Sanibel Heights social group. On the Sanibel pool bulletin board there in information and a contact for Sanibel Heights.

Welcome. We are also in Sanibel. Across the street from us we have 4 spec homes and now we have 3 new neighbors. I think one house is still emptied though but I am pretty sure someone will buy it. I still have an empty lot next to me so I don't know what happened. We were told the house was suppose to go up in July. Good luck with your retirement and welcome to our neighborhood. My group is the Sanibel Social Club and the next Meet your Neighbors get together is on September 12 on Evesborough Path. Not sure of the time yet or address. Patti

We are on Rain Lily Loop and have been watching 3 homes being built across the street from us. One spec home sold in June but no one has moved in. Hope you are in one of these 4 homes. It will be great to have these homes filled with new residents. Are you the new house on the golf course?

Hello asilver, We are also in Unit 177 on Rain Lily Loop. The social club for Unit 177 is currently The Sanibel Heights Social Club. PM me and I will give you the contact info. There is a social scheduled for Sept. 19th at Captiva at 6:30. Bring a snack to share and BYOB. They will have line dancing instruction for entertainment. Since our social group is approx. 300 people and growing, they have to limit attendance as Captiva can only accomodate so many folks, so tickets for this social will be on sale Sept. 10th. I forget the time but it supposed to be at the Sanibel Pool but I am sure the contact can tell you all the particulars. Welcome to Sanibel. Judy
