Water Bill

Received out water bill today and there is a credit of over $15,000 paid since last bill. Any other folks have such a discrepancy on their bill?

graciegirl 09-15-2012 05:53 PM

um...is that fifteen THOUSAND dollars? Gosh. I hope they mess up on ours.

WOW!! You hit the lottery. But now since you made it public, they will fix it.

I would write then a letter and ask them to correct the bill. I would also pay for the actual usage each month to avoid problems when they do correct the bill.

I'm with you on this one. Lord knows, they will come back with some accusatory reply.... Above board is the way to go!

asianthree 09-15-2012 07:28 PM

thanks for paying everyones water for this month

justanormalgirl 09-15-2012 07:50 PM

O.k...that's different than our water bill here but it looks to me like you owe them the $15, 252.73...and that it will be deducted from your bank account :22yikes:

Hope you're covered...or that I'm reading your bill wrong! lol!

Seriously though, I would definitely keep up with the current bill amount.

elevatorman 09-15-2012 07:56 PM

Did you check your bank account? It looks like they took the $15,000 out last month. Some checking accts. are tied to savings accts. When there is not enough in checking it automatically debits the savings.

jblum315 09-15-2012 08:22 PM

I don't believe they would let your water bill get up to $15,000 without turning off your water. Therefore it must be a mistake in the billing.

CaptJohn 09-15-2012 08:33 PM

If you folks that thinks he had money deducted will look at the bill carefully there is a payment credit of $15,445.19 for the previous month and then after deducting this month it leaves $15,252.73- amount. The hash mark to the right of the number indicates a credit balance in the water account. All he has to do is worry they did not actually take it from his checking/savings account!

buggyone 09-15-2012 08:34 PM

And you thought the proper solution to the bill was to put it on TOTV instead of calling the VCDD? :22yikes:

My first call would be to the VCDD and this problem would be fixed in 2 minutes.

O.k...I saw the part about amount due by 10/3/2012 with the $15,252.73 next to it and thought it was asking for that amount by that date. Hopefully a quick phone call will sort this out and correct the bill.

Bogie Shooter 09-15-2012 08:50 PM

Wouldn't this be solved by a phone call to the water department?
Members of TOTV can do a lot of things...........correcting a water bill probably is not one of them.

Happy-Go-Lucky 09-15-2012 09:17 PM

Yep.... our credit was over 17,000 dollars. somebody goofed big time!

kaydee 09-15-2012 10:17 PM

just open mine.... balance forward $23,000...oh boy!!!

Well, I posted this because I saw some humor in it and that others might be interested and I asked others if they had something similar. But I get advice on how to handle it. One poster doesn't even know how to read the bill. Go figure ! !

FWIW, I got a kick out of your post. That is quite a mistake.

philnpat 09-16-2012 06:21 AM

Maybe with all the rain we've had, that's the credit due for all the water you've returned to the water dept! lol

I know how you feel. Most respondents get your point but some always make you scratch your head and make you wonder why bother posting. Obviously you know to call the water dept and others, but some criticize you for posting this humorous billing error. I did check my bill to ensure mine was correct and I appreciate your posting. I limit my posts to avoid getting the "you should have known the rules" or "you should have done this or that" type responses. I love this site because of the information and experiences residents share, but not for the unnecessary critical comments.

champion6 09-16-2012 09:17 AM

Bobcuse :agree:

Yankee 09-16-2012 09:38 AM

Tell them to write you a check for the credit. Go play the lottery.

Well, if you're referring to my mention of how your bill looks...you're right...I'm not in TV or Florida for that matter and your bills do look different than ours.

jblum315 09-16-2012 10:59 AM

Sorry if you were offended. On TOTV people naturally try to be helpful

suebanj 09-16-2012 01:20 PM

Received my bill yesterday...$27,303 credit!!! Will call them tomorrow..

The Shadow 09-16-2012 01:44 PM

Tinkle test

I think a trip down to the water company to have the water tested is in order.
