Brownwood was and is a plan that's coming to fruition.
Beautiful, fun, friendly and perfect would be MY intuition.
It'll be horsey, and something from Florida in days long past.
It's all for us and we will be the central figures, part of the cast.

Went by Brownwood yesterday and there is quite a bit of work going on. Sign is now up on the bank near the Buena Vista entrance to Brownwood.

VMail and The Villages Entertainment Dept newsletter both come out late next week so if the information I have heard from a couple of sources is correct then news should be coming out very soon.

I drove past Brownwood today and they're laying sod. Went to the Uncle Bob's Rock Shop show last week (Great Group) and they announced that they would be performing at the new square on Halloween.

I know that Cody's and City fire will be there. Of course Publix and Sweetbay will be ther at some point.

Keep it comin' on! Sod down, signs up, bands booked... that's what I'm talkin' 'bout... We may be eight months from TV, but we've so moved in! Thanks (new) friends...

It is almost October... Any Brownwood news to report? Anything?

The Villages Colony golf cart employee told me she would be at the new Brownswood golf cart store starting the 3rd week in Oct.

Our Oct 16th closing was just schedule for 10:00, in Brownwood!!

Closing agent said they plan to move down the first week of October.

I was also told by someone in the know that it should be early October. We shall see:crap2:

We're closing on our house on Oct. 19 in Brownwood. I guess it will be open by then

I have been told there will be a Farmers' Market on Oct. 13th. Will have to wait and see. Got this info from one who will be offering items for sale that particular day. Not sure if it is going to be a weekly, monthly thing or just for that Saturday. Used to have some vendors at Lake Sumter Landing when we were first here 6 years ago...not sure if it still happens.

Lots of building to be completed in Brownwood even after its PHASE I opening. Can you imagine the traffic for the first few weeks going to Brownwood? I hope there is plenty of parking for cars and golf carts! Let it happen.

There is supposed to be something in The Daily Sun this Sunday regarding the opening on the 12th.


As for rumors one I heard today has Cheesecake Factory coming to Brownwood.

Nothing in Sunday's Daily Sun about Brownwood.

We close on Oct. 12 and were told it will be in Brownwood.

Not sure this is true but I have heard the official opening day may be on October 31st. Several soft openings prior.

Nothing in the paper yet. Still hearing that entertainment starts on the 12th but nothing about various stores that may be coming.

Was another post saying the Wildwood Market will be in brownwood starting 10/12 or 10/13.

Where is Brownwood?
 

I've been looking at maps and am totally confused, is it on 44 or 44a? I know it's west of Buena Vista, how far west? Down to Powell Rd? How far from 301?

Nope. Brownwood is a town center like Lake Sumter Landing Market Square and Spanish Springs. Both areas where the music is played nightly and there are restaurants and shops.

Brownwood is NOT a village. I imagine that you have bought south of 466A and will be CLOSE to the new Brownwood center.

I just drove by there a couple of hours ago and they are installing the cows featured on Brownwood episode 7.

My sources tell me that Costco will open a store adjacent to the new shopping mall near Brownwood. Also Macy's will be the anchor store to the mall.

Costco and Macy's? I wasn't expecting to be in heaven so soon!
