TOTV Lunch at Crispers - Friday, 10/19

Just wondering who will be at the monthly TOTV lunch this Friday, 10/19 at Crispers? Would love to meet more TOTV people!

KathieI 10-16-2012 06:17 AM

Did not know about it.

What time is the lunch and in the future how do we get notified ?

Thanks

Are these luncheons open to anyone who is a member of TOTV? We will be frogs in July and I would love to have the opportunity to meet the wonderful people who participate in this forum. At this point, we only spend one weekend each month at our TV home.

It's always the third Friday of the month at 3:00 PM at Crispers in the Southern Trace Mall on 466.

You can click on the "calendar" icon and it's listed there.

Will just be moving in, look forward to December's!

If you go to the calendar and click on the event, you'll be taken to the event page where you can click a notify link on the right side and get setup for a reminder sent to you every month by email with a choice of how far in advance to have it sent.

Yes, anyone who posts on TOTV is welcome. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet the people who contribute so much knowledge, insight and humor on this forum. I really enjoyed meeting the people at the June luncheon.

Wish we could be there! House has not sold in Texas, so we wait.....:cryin2:

Geewiz 10-16-2012 03:31 PM

So...if I show up have I already alienated enough people that I'm gonna get killed? My kitten demands an answer before she will let me go...those darn kittens.

swrinfla 10-16-2012 03:59 PM

I'll be there.

Note that The Cat doesn't really care, so long as she gets fed before 6!

And I neglected to get permission from my feline to attend this event. I left my awesome black cat (King Magic of Schaumburg) 1,000 miles away to go to the TOTV lunch at Crispers. I know he is pressed against my picture window looking down at the driveway saying...where did she go this time and why didn't she take me with? And he would love to frolic on a lanai.

graciegirl 10-17-2012 02:25 AM

Sound like such a great group of folks this time.

Our cats said I could go but alas and yippee, golf in my Friday Caroline group has begun again for fall. So I will miss you all. If you hear faint cussing coming from the vicinty of Bacall, it is me on the golf course.

Gracie, Glad your foot has recovered and you can golf again!

Gracie, you will be missed but so glad you can play golf again.

I am only in town for a few weeks but I expect to make it. See you there

Tom Hannon 10-19-2012 07:55 AM

I noticed limited activity on this post. Hopefully, there will be a larger turnout than I expect. I don't get to too many of the crispers meetings and I'd like to meet as many of you as I can.

Boudicca 10-19-2012 08:17 AM

I was SO looking forward to attending the meet and greet at Crispers today, but I have THE worst cough and cold. See you'all next month. Sandra

I didn't think people catch colds in Florida

Boudicca 10-19-2012 09:11 AM

Ha! Wish it were so. I honked, and hacked so much during the night, that my two pet dogs barked in disgust, and moved out of the bedroom, into the living room where they could sleep undisturbed. Its a sad day, when one's own pets turn on the owner LOL

CaptJohn 10-19-2012 09:50 PM

It's time for a report and pictures of today's event! Who was there? Those of us out of town are anxious to know!

I'm nearing the end of my cough and cold. It's been a L O N G 13 days! I hear a lot of people have this respiratory virus I have had. It's miserable and so glad I'm almost over it.

mikeandnancy1112 10-20-2012 06:10 AM

We had a total of seven people including Brenda, bstenon; Niels and Claudia; Pat, starflyte; Laura, schaumburger; Tom Hannon; Steve, swrinfla; and me, Nancy, mikeandnancy1112.

Even though this was the smallest turnout in a few months everyone seemed to have a good time getting to know each other. That's the thing, it doesn't matter how small the group is, TOTV's folks really seem to bond.

Good to hear some people made it. I was thinking of coming over but got preoccupied with other stuff going on in my life. I have not been to one of these since Donna was a regular attendee.

Yorio 10-20-2012 10:10 AM

Nancy is absolutely right. Luncheon is a luncheon no matter how small. Hope I can make it to the one in November and few thereafter. More the merrier but even with a small group, you can have a wonderful conversation.

starflyte1 10-20-2012 11:57 AM

I was there and really thought it was a great group. We were able to talk as one group so really did get to meet people.

Thanks, Nancy, for being the hostess.

:agree: It was a nice group of people, and I always learn from what the TV veterans have to say. So nice to be able to sit outside -- can't usually do that in Chicago the third week of October.

Nancy, thank you for hosting. I hope to be back in TV spring of 2013, and I hope I can attend the monthly Crispers meeting then.

Tal

Glad for the reminder of Dona, miss her even if we only talked on chat. Does anyone know how Ron is?

graciegirl 10-21-2012 05:50 AM

Donna, with her friendly smile and warm hugs and warmth toward everyone would want you to come to Crispers again, Tal.

You are such an important part of TOTV!

Hugs,
Gracie

Thanks graciegirl, looking forward to meeting you. You are a great cheerleader and goodwill ambassador for TOTV and the Villages.

We think about Donna often, she was such an important part during the growth of TOTV. Always welcoming everyone especially newbies, with her "welcome wagon" smiley. We miss her every day.

Ron (RCT) is great, still playing golf and is mostly on Facebook. We miss our chat room and maybe some day we can get a reunion going.

It really doesn't matter the number of people at the lunch, remember we started with a group of only 6 or 8 and that was the beginning of great friendships.

Hope to be able to attend the lunch in Nov.

paulandjean 10-21-2012 08:05 AM

Sorry I missed friday, will be there in November.Looking forward to meeting people.

wendyquat 10-21-2012 11:26 PM

Sorry we missed Crispers Friday! We had to visit with some really old people at my 50th high school class reunion in Georgia! Maybe next month. Thanks for hosting nancy!

Donna was a ray of sunshine, a beautiful girl with a big smile. The first TOTV lunch meeting in 2007 was her idea. Donna, we miss you girl.

njbchbum 10-22-2012 12:04 AM

it is october, a time when i particularly remember donna because of her stories about julia, the ghost of rolling acres road! i wonder if they have encountered yet. ;)
