Cody's Roadhouse
 

I hadn't tried Cody's Roadhouse in the 3 years I've lived here because somehow I thought it was mostly a drinking place. But I've been there twice recently with a friend and found the food really very good and the service excellent. The first visit was at 10 p.m. on a Friday and my friend thought we would have to sit at the bar but we got a table right away. The second time was last night (Monday)and it was crowded but again we got a booth right away. They have a pretty extensive and interesting menu and a great selection of beers.

Dunning Shaw will be playing on the patio tonight 5 - 9.

Awesome steak fajitas

I love the roasted chicken and the chicken caesar salad.. Hubby likes the chopped steak and the pork chop.

Chopped steak, medium-rare, is delicious! :thumbup:

I've had some pretty decent steaks there..........

Garlic wings and Margaritas at the bar!!

We go to Cody's a couple nights during the week. Coconut shrimp is my favorite! Hubby like French dip. Good entertainment. Good service. Also good bar food. Fun place!

We didn't see the ad for the Sunday 11-4 "After Church Special" this week. We also usually get an email about it, but no email last week. Does anybody know if they stopped it when the Snowbirds came back? I loved the Sunday special.

Last week was the first week I didn't get it. Could have been an oversight.

Appear they have improved since opening. Had gone twice the first year they opened and swore them off forever. Perhaps I need another look

Love going on Wednesdays for BOGO Fajita night. Also enjoy the 2 for 1 Margaritas - My hubby always comments on the way out that we should have shared one drink order - :1rotfl:

Wow! A Cody's thread without complaints! This is rare. We are there often and love it. If it gets too loud we just head over to City Fire. I love The Villages lifestyle, our friends, and dancing.

I've had it with Cody's. I am never going back! The service was entirely too good!

Yes, dang it, Food is too tempting! Servers are too efficient and cheerful. Ambiance is too pleasant. Cody's doesn't belong in TV - should be shut down!

The prime rib special was awesome.

I love Cody's too! The food is fantastic! Try the Sirloin Steak special. It is really good!

Dang that Cody's Place at Lake Sumter Landing.....

We already eat there at least twice a week........
....then when family or friends show up for a visit.....
they all want to eat at Cody's...

Don't know but it is addictive. Was there the other day and had great service and a great meal. I could have not asked for anything more and that is the way it has always been every time I have gone to Cody's.

The orders are...come by at meal time, the grub ain't too bad at Chez G. ;)

Yap out cruisin'. Coming from the travel thingy they had at the Polo Fields.

Checking on the progress on the crib going up a few streets over. They do work fast. I just love looking at the two on the north end (next door on the bend) and the two on the south end (4 car garage and the one with 3 car plus golf cart). Just dreaming again.

Also checking on the gator you have near the hood and it looks like it has been eating well.

We had very much the same experience as these people did at Cody's. I know there are staunch defenders on this site of Cody's, but you have obviously not crossed the owner.

We have heard him on a number of occasions talking to employees and customers, in this berating manner.





On Friday some of our friends gathered at Cody's to sit outside, enjoy the beautiful weather and the music. We were excited because some of our northern friends were back in town and it was one of their birthdays. We got a spot, but it was quickly damper by the present of a loud man, slamming dishes and yelling at the waitresses/waiters. Concerned I thought maybe it was he wanted our table but eventually found out he is the owner. Many of the patrons notice this individual frowning, yelling at the help which made for a very uncomfortable atmosphere. I attempted to explain to him how he was ruining our evening by his actions but he then started to yell at me. He stated that he didn’t care what I thought and that he would run his restaurant the way he wanted. I walked away knowing that there are too many other great restaurants in The Villages. Owner or not, it was a classic example of how not to treat customers. We won’t return!

was there this week-had a very poor waitress-bus boy had to get our refill of salad-no refill on drinks,food was taking forever-flagged down manager-he was terrific-took care of everything thus I left feeling positive and will return
