FL Professor questions Newtown shooting

FL professor, James Tracy, claims that the Newtown shooting may not have happened, or perhaps happened differently. He teaches, "Culture of Conspiracy" at FL Atlantic University.

:crap2: another conspiracy!

Mudder 01-11-2013 01:52 PM

How can he possibly rationalize his conclusions???

Not really following his arguments. James Tracy: Florida professor won¿t back down from Newtown massacre conspiracy theory | Mail Online

James Tracy, FAU Professor, Disputes Newtown Sandy Hook Massacre Account

"James Tracy" seems to be a rather common name in academia. There is also a James Tracy teaching early modern History at the U of MN. Different guy of course.

I certainly don't believe his theory but after reading his statements, I do get his point. With the culture of the internet age, we pass around erroneous emails and rumors without researching or questioning what we read. If it's on the Internet or in the paper, it must be true. NOT! Perhaps he just wants to teach his students to research and reason and not blindly jump to emotional conclusions. If that is his purpose I think he could find a better way.

Beyond Ignorant.

The jerk should be locked away from idiots that fall for this kind of ruthless trash.

2BNTV 01-11-2013 02:58 PM

Another example of someone who is insensitive to what happened in N.E.W.T.O.W.N., (Never Expected Weapons To Openfire Within Neighborhood). Laurie Jordan

It does trouble me this man is teaching these conspiracy theories to kids as a guise to support free thinking. Saying it didn't happen is terribly wrong.

I was also reading of a woman who has a crush on James Holmes, (the Aurora theater shooter) saying he's cute and not a bad person. WHOA!!!!!!

I guess there is always someone who will support a person who thinking is bizzare.

Only in America kiddies.......

He could just have them read some of the works of critical philosphy like works by Plato, Aristotle, Locke, Hume, Hobbes, Descrates, Foucault, Nietzsche, Nozick, Habermas, etc.

He is almost teaching his students to expound on theories that are bound to get them beaten up by other students.

ugotme 01-11-2013 03:42 PM

Yep - and Elvis is still roaming around, JFK is in hiding, we never went to the moon and the holocaust never happened !!!!

Tell that to the parents of the children they buried !

IDIOT !

The professor must think that every news organization in the country and many from around the world were involved in this duplicity, along with the President of the United States and the Governor of Connecticut.

graciegirl 01-11-2013 04:23 PM

Sometimes, no make that lotsa times, I question Acadamia.

What are they thinkin".......and chargin' us so much money to teach our kids........ in this case a bunch of nonsense?

I hope that none of your grandkids are taking his courses at FAU.

That would be a big waste of money. No, I didn't hear about it from grandkids. I heard it being discussed on a morning radio-program earlier this week.

Ït is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data." Clearly one begins to twist facts to suit theories instead of theories to suit facts.(Sherlock Holmes)

Before I would comment concerning this professor I would need more data to understand his position.

yeah I guess so, but dead is dead. Data doesn't come anymore conclusive than that.

Well, do not forget that there are kooks that doubt lots of events of history. There are those who say the Holocost never happened, some say that the first moon landing was staged in a Hollywood movie set, and some say there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

This professor just lines up with those others and is gathering his 15 minutes of fame.

There always has been and will be a lunatic fringe.

I just read that people were harrassing the grandfather who lived across the street from Sandy Hook School who took in six little students in and tried to comfort them after they told him their teacher was dead.

Some are harrassing him saying he is a paid actor and the government paid him to lie in order to get people to be for gun control. His house was pictured and the article says that he and his wife are afraid because of the vehement verbal attacks saying it was all a conspiracy.

That is SO sick!!

It is unbelievable what people are doing to this good samaritan and his wife who protected six children after their teacher was murdered right in front of them.

Today the NRA is attacking the president's daughters in their latest TV advertising.

I just contacted my two senators and one house member asking them if they support universal background checks for all gun owners, and if not, why not? Waiting to hear back from them. Will contact them everyday until I get answers.

Conspiracy nuts who make other conspiracy nuts look good.

I saw that too. Have no idea how any semi-intelligent rational person could believe this bunk. Gene Rosen, Sandy Hook Hero, Harassed By Conspiracy Theorists Who Claim He's An Actor

2BNTV 01-16-2013 03:55 PM

Here's the article from the NY Daily News.

Grandfather who comforted six frightened children who survived Sandy Hook school massacre now being terrorized by conspiracy nuts who claim mass murder never happened - NY Daily News

We live in a sick society where people can hide behind their keyboards and make outrageous claims. How someone can make these kind of comments is way beyond me.

As for professor James Tracy saying this never happened. I would like to see him visit the twenty six graves of the Newtown victems.

janmcn 01-16-2013 06:25 PM

I hope the professor was watching TV today when the Superintendent of Sandy Hook Elementary was talking about the day of the shooting when parents were picking up their kids and they realized several parents had no kids to pick up. Everyone in the room was sobbing as she spoke.

Too bad the professor wasn't there to explain his theory that this never happened. Florida seems to be home to every nut case.

asianthree 01-16-2013 08:12 PM

If he has been given a grant he must produce some theory on whatever, he just poorly
