So happy for you!!!! I know exactly how you are feeling, we're closing on ours here in Michigan on Tuesday and I still keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. We took a huge hit on ours but in the end it will all be worth it!!

Congratulations on your pending move to The Villages. Interesting that you will be moving only about a 90 minute drive. The Villages definitely has appeal for all.

Question for those who said they are "taking a hit". Do you mean that you paid more for the house than what you sold it for - or that it had been worth quite a bit more before the real estate bubble burst but you still made money from what you paid for it?

When I sold mine in suburban Wash. DC, I made a very nice profit from what I paid for it 28 years earlier - but sold it for less than it had been worth 3 years earlier. I do not consider I "took a hit" but if I had held out for more money, the house would not have sold in 8 days.
