Look up your first car

This is really cool. Find your first car or the one you drove to high school or
college; hopefully your car brochure is available.

Bought a nice ten year old '57 Chevy for $75.

cgalloway6 01-16-2013 08:53 AM

1948 Jeep, no doors or roof, had to scrape frost off of the windshield and the seats, top speed about 65 downhill

Serenoa 01-16-2013 09:28 AM

'66 Mustang fastback, 289 4-speed. paid about $1650 for it in 1969.

next car was a brand new '71 Camaro SS/RS. sticker on it was $4850.

lightworker888 01-16-2013 09:41 AM

My first car was a little red 2HP 4seater NSU Prinz that looked the same when it was coming or going. My late husband said it was like a covered lawn mower but it got up to hwy speed and I drove it for 5 years with little trouble and it was great on gas! Have never seen another one but if anyone else has, I'd love to hear any recollections they had. Many good memories.

1973 Mercury Capri, manual transmission. Fun car, wish I still had it!!! Bought it used and car payment was $67. a month. Funny how you can remember the first one. I can't remember any other car payment but can remember that!!!

'66 Volkswagen Fastback

Yankee Quilter 01-16-2013 11:48 AM

1964 Corvair named Patrick Henry! Lot's of laughs when the macho gas station attendant would want to check the water and oil under the hood! Under the hood was a bag of cement to help traction in the snow, sleet and ice!

mac9 01-16-2013 12:49 PM

1949 Plymouth Deluxe named The Hindenberg because it was so high and easy to find in a parking lot!

Monkei 01-16-2013 12:58 PM

1972 Mustang, the white and blue racing stripes fastback. Only had the 302 in it but with the hijackers, the fat Mickey Thompson tires it looked good.

Your welcome. I don't think to may people are checking out the site. LOL

Happy to hear someone other than me owned a cortina. Most people never heard of them.

I checked the listing and found my first car. It was a 1955 Rambler Country Club. It had a green body and a cream color top. It also had the continental kit on the back for the spare tire. I had that car from 1963 until 1966 when I joined the Army.

My next car, when I got out of the Army in 1969, was a 1969 Mustang. Wish I had that car now!

1956 Pontiac Convertible Baby blue with white and blue interior and white top. Purchased while living in Virgina Beach VA.

Trayderjoe 01-16-2013 03:29 PM

1970 Opel Kadett. No heater, no defroster, no radio, not much more than a seat, 4 wheels an engine and steering wheel. I used to have to roll the windows down when going over a bridge to cut down on the wind resistance or it would push me into the adjacent lane! My girlfriend at the time gave me a portable cassette player so that I could listen to music when driving to her house (about an hour away at the time)!

pjolson 01-16-2013 05:14 PM

1964 GTO converible. Bright red. 4-speed, positraction. Just over $3K new. Wish I still had it! Oh well.....

1967 GTX. Brand new. 375 horsepower. Had it modified to 400 hp. I remember my payments being $75 a month and gas being .26 cents so the eight miles per gallon didn't mean too much. I had just turned 19. Ahhh, to be young and free again.

I know what you mean. I had a '63 Corvette Stingray split window coupe in black with red interior. Sold it for $1000 when in college because I couldn't afford to fix the rear end!
