World of Beer coming to Brownwood
Today's (1/24) Daily Sun article that World of Beer a craft beer retailer is coming to Brownwood. Picture of their building under construction.
|
I read that in this morning's paper and wished my dad could have lived to see these things. He was a Brewmaster, Braumeister, in Columbus, Ohio...and he had the "tongue" and I swear he could taste on which side of the hill the hops were grown.
He would have LOVED it. I love someone's bottom of the page quote that says.. Beer is the reason we know God loves us... or something like that. It always makes me smile. |

let's hope they get enough business to survive.
Remember when there was a micro brewery in Spanish Springs? They had great beer(s) that were brewed on site. Then for a whole lot of reasons that never became public they were closed....the equipment left to "sour" and become non-useable. Many of us beer drinkers were in shock because they did a good beer business. They even used to have a beer truck at special events on the squares...that too got eliminated. So let's hope this one works out. It will be 100% a function of how deicated the owners are to focus on what the customers want....and not conflict with any entities owned by TV or TV family memebrs or TV past insiders....not a coincidence how some of these things work (or not). btk |
Beer is proof that God loves me and wants me to be happy!

This is perhaps the best news about TV I have ever heard! Oh happy micro brew day!!
May BTK's cryptic warnings not come to pass |
I hope they make some beers that will be loved by all TV'ers.

I will also be VERY interested in seeing if they have entertainment / bands. I have been to 4 - 5 World of Beer locations and the bands were, shall we say, ones that played music not typically associated with what is normal in TV. |

Hopefully, they will have a happy hour like Cody's or RJ Gator's.

The article this morning gave the size as 3,004 sq ft (50'X60'), which sounds small for a pub\restaurant\retail store. I know business' have to plan for 12 months but that doesn't sound nearly large enough for even the slowest times in TV. I'll bet NY Pizza, or Cheng's is about that size and they're both small by any measure. Maybe there's room for them to grow?
|
Hmmmmmmmm...... It doesn't sound very big.
From the excellent reviews I read on the internet of WOB in Miami, I would tend to think they will be crowded. They should serve a blueberry beer that has blueberries on the bottom of the bottle. |
WHOOHOO:clap2::clap2::clap2:

THis seems like good news!!
But I also want the micro brewer back!!!! We were told that the issue is to obtain a license and therefore they never reopened at Spanish Springs. I thought about starting a strike (and refuse to retire -- move to TV), until I realize it is a bad idea. May be if we start with a list of signatures?? A license should not be hard to work and yes, we loved the micro brewer, too sad they are no longer there! |
There is a very good micro-brewery on Hwy 27 just before you get to the Hwy 50 turnoff in Clermont.
Yes, you sometimes do have to leave the confines of The Villages. |
If anyone is going to Clermont you might as well checkout the World of Beers Clermont Location on Hwy 27 just south of Rte 50 by the new Pennys store, it's only about a 30 minute drive. We haven't been in the WOB because we always go to Clermont for the Buffalo Wild Wings which is in the same shopping center and also Lake Ridge Winery, which is worth seeing if you're into wines.

after a round of golf there is nothing better than a nice COLD beer.

When is projected opening?
We missed this article yesterday, and the paper's now out at the curb for recycling day (however, when he gets up Ohioboy may go out and get it).
As to the brewery in Spanish Springs, we were told that a microbrew operation is using the eqpt. in Gainesville, can't remember the name of it - Swamp Brewery, perhaps? |

Can't wait to see what they offer. I brew my own beer, I have a copper ale in the primary fermenter as we speak.

Amazing news that WOB is coming to TV! This is a place where you go to drink a variety of international, quality beer. NOT a place where you find "happy hours" and $1 drafts. I hope enough people support it for what it is and go for quality over quantity rather than quantity of quality. |
Now all we need is a Trader Joe's and I have heard they are coming to Brownwood!!
