roundabouts

I used to work at Heathrow Airport London. One day a new roundabout was opened, to make it 'easier' to get on to the outer perimeter road. This is what they built!!
You can see the large original roundabout with shrubs in the middle, with 5 yes 5 smaller roundabouts.

I rented a car in Heathrow a couple years ago for a drive to the Bournemouth/Wimborne area. Without GPS, I would have never found the M3 and would still be driving in circles at Heathrow. Other than Brussels, the most confusing place I have ever driven... But, I do love England!

Roundabouts in TV are a piece of cake!

Here's a picture of another roundabout in England. It hard to even figure out which way to go. Glad we have such simple roundabouts here.

I'd be dead in five minutes trying to drive that one!

I saw an elderly woman in a large Yukon SUV recently navigate a roundabout in an interesting way. She simply straddled the white line between the two lanes until she figured where she wanted to go. She was oblivious to the fact that there were two lanes of traffic backed up behind her. :ohdear:

DO NOT turn left from the right lane in a roundabout! Would you turn left from the right lane at a 4 way stop?

Great photo. This reminds me of a question that I have. What criteria did the developer use when deciding which entrances would have a gate house south of 466? This photo shows just one of many examples: why is there a gatehouse going into Hadley but there isn't a gatehouse right across the roundabout going into Hemingway. There are quite a few other examples where there's a gatehouse on one side of a roundabout...but not on the other (gatehouse at Belvedere...none at Winifred etc. etc.) Does anyone know the answer to this mystery (to me)?

A lot of what you're used to. Our friends from England just kind of shake their heads at our RAB's. They almost got creamed in one last year!

I avoid, if possible, and am thankful we live near the edge, so we can get to most things without a rab. I will add that I do know how to navigate them. I just worry so much about those who don't!

This must have been "Photoshopped" - everyone is doing the right thing, and that never happens on a TV roundabout

I've tried to navigate that roundabout before, I thought they need a restaurant in the middle, as I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life trying to get off of the roundabout

The problem is we have some drivers that have little experiene rabbing and some with little rab sense. Couldn't resist
