In the Sun Today...Friday March 8,2013

This morning The Daily Sun reported a 53 year old woman took a metal baseball bat to the statue of St. Michael on the grounds of St. Timothy Church.

She was arrested.

If we had banned baseball bats this never would have happened.
We have only our selves to blame.

graciegirl 03-08-2013 07:16 PM

I thought for a moment it might be a statue of St. Joseph and she was mad because her house hadn't sold.

asianthree 03-08-2013 07:53 PM

St Joseph made her do it because so many bury him upside down

Baseball bats don't kill statues... people do! The only answer to a bad person with a baseball bat is a good person with a baseball bat!

(oops! sorry, moderator...)

Virtual Geezer 03-08-2013 09:19 PM

She was shown on one of the local tv channels and was rambling on and on. Defiantly not all together.

How about this evening on Fox 35 in the crawl at the bottom of the screen they had a short blip about a landscaper in TV being arrested for grand theft and something else (maybe breaking and entering or forced entry). I just checked the web site and of course it is a few days behind except for the major stories.

I can... this has been around a long time. If you bury a statue of St. John upside in your yard, your house will sell fast. It's worked for us. Also, one time we when we wanted to sell a sailboat, we buried a statue of St John upside-down in a pot in the dock box at the marina slip. That worked too!

Wonder where my sister in law is ?

We don't need to ban baseball bats. We just need to have a 7 day waiting period before we are allowed to buy them. We should also consider baseball bat education seminars before people are allowed to buy a baseball bat,

And no selling of baseball bats over the internet. Or used baseball bats sold privately--a no-no!

(We are going to get this thread kicked off, I just know it.):grumpy:

Didn't you mean St. Joseph? I think the St John statue is what you plant upside down in a flower pot and put on top of your toilet tank when your Citrucel isn't doing it's job! :22yikes:

Thanks, I meant St Joseph. Also, you must dig him up after the sale, or bad karma on you.

Thanks Skyguy, I needed this laugh tonight! St Joseph worked for us! The problem is i forgot to dig the little bugger up and bring him with us to TV! Not sure what dire fate that will bring upon us!

I recently emailed that little St Joseph trick to a friend in NC who is desperate to sell her home! She emailed me back and asked if she should get adult or children's! :1rotfl:

The St. Joseph statue worked for us when we sold 3 homes ago in 2009. Afterward we went back and neither of us could find the statue where we buried it. However, mostly good has befallen us ever since then, but that might be because St. Joseph is my patron saint and he's looking out for me. If so, I thank him as he's done a good job of it.

BTW, they say that if you don't like your neighbor you can bury the statue facing their house and their house will sell. Before we sold in 2009, I was tempted to do that to my neighbor directly across the street. He was a butinsky and a general PIA! :1rotfl:

Only a good person with a baseball bst can stop s bad person with a baseball bat.

graciegirl 03-09-2013 06:08 AM

At golf yesterday we were discussing it and wondering how she and St. Michael had a falling out. I am not sure what St. Michael does. I remember that prayer, St. Michael the archangel, defend us in this day of battle......

I bet there is an interesting back story, perhaps we'll read about it in the local newspaper? :boxing2:

This is obviously off topic, but very interesting. If anyone hears any details about this landscaper, please let us know.

CFrance 03-09-2013 08:16 AM

We should limit the number of swings to one in baseball.
