Breakfast crowd? at Toojays option
Need to get a couple college students off on the van to the airport and would like to get them breakfast before they go. I was hoping to go to Toojays as it is in LS but I usually go to Toojays after 11 a.m. so am wondering if it will be difficult to get in at 9 a.m. They need to be at the station at 10:15 so if TJ's is out, is there anything else there in LS open for breakfast?

Thank you. So you think TooJays will have a "line" at 9?
|
Everything has a line at 9AM around here!
|
I was hoping there would be a mad rush to Brownwood for the Farmer's Market :) but I suppose you are right.
|
Isn't there a Waffle House near Wildwood open 24 hours?
|
The Bob Evans on 466 isn't too far from LSL and we've always gotten a table and quick service, even in the mornings.

LS is sorely lacking for breakfast places that actually serves eggs, bacon, potatoes, etc. except for 2Jays. Forget Brownwood since there is nothing for breakfast and nothing in the foreseeable future. Spanish Springs has Katie Bells on weekends, and Athens everyday which in my opinion is the best of TV. They also have 2Jays.
You could go to Southern Plaza on 466 by Publix and take them to Sonrise Café. Bob Evans is just down the street and the Pancake house. |
Well, we got to Toojays at 8:50 and there were only two parties in front of us. It worked out quite nicely. But I do agree that it would be nice to have a bit more choice in the LS area.

Bob Evans is a great place for breakfast.

Well, the newest VMail about Brownwood, indicates one of the streets will be anchored by restaurants on each end. Whining will most likely not make it happen any sooner...................
|
College students usually prefer Starbucks for something with a power punch and maybe a bagel or pastry.

Too Jays opens early (7?). Go early (8am) and avoid the rush. Or have them eat at home or the airport.......jmho

Why play it so close to the time of departure? I personally would go at 8:30 AM and not leave it to chance. Toojays serves a great breakfast. IMHO Why not call and ask and then plan accordingly. They will know when the rush time begins and how long breakfast will take. |
I did call. They said there is no way of knowing.
I had two college students who look like they are being asked to submit to voluntary torture when you ask them to get up before 10 a.m. I made them get up at 7:45 and we got there at 8:45 or 8:50 and all was good. It was going to be a very long day of travel and I wanted them to have a relaxed morning. Travel is stressful enough these days. A nice filling breakfast was just the ticket. I appreciate all your thoughtful responses but we can close this thread now. The even took place a couple days ago. All good. No worries. Let's move on to more pertinent questions :) |
