My husband & I went. It was very nice. They sat us with others from our Village. Each month there will be different ways for deciding who you sit with. Sometimes it will be by month of your birthday. Other times, you can sit wherever you like, etc. We discussed schedules for future meetings, and were given a survey to fill out. The survey is to determine what we'd like to see happen with the club, ie activities, etc. Each table played a game called "Left, Right, Center. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. In general, it was a good meeting, and everyone was friendly, like most of us here in Paradise. Trish

The next meeting of The Baby Boomers South will be held on Saturday, April 20th, 2013. It will always be at Lake Miona Rec Center. It's at 6:30 PM. Lynne Shields is the person who started BBS. She can be reached at 352-751-6014. You'll need tickets for this event, and Lynne has them.

I'm one of the people handling membership. You can reach me at 352-633-3700. (It's my home # - not a business). I'm in Buttonwood. My name is Tricia.

It's a fun group....come & join us. By the way, you can belong to both Baby Boomer groups. They don't conflict, as they meet on different dates and times. I hope this was helpful. Trish

I am thinking about starting a group called the Baby Bloomers. They will be either younger or older than the Boomers and our agenda would be to have twice as much fun, north, south east west and central.

Except...who starts a group in a retirement communtiy that excludes ANYBODY based on age??

Not me.

That's o.k.. ...

I will look in the windows at you when you are at Laurel Manor, like the little match girl.....sigh.

I am JUST KIDDING..

kinda.

DougB 03-31-2013 11:38 AM

So, you have to live south of 466a, but the meetings are at a rec center north of 466a??? Grace, can I join your club when you get it started?

LynnDeb 04-13-2013 12:39 AM

They said you do NOT have to live south of 466A. And you can belong to both. The original Baby Boomers Club meets at La Hacienda Rec Ctr the 3rd Wednesday of the month. Baby Boomers South will be at Lake Miona Rec Ctr on the 3rd Sat of the month. Only one spouse needs to be born between 1946-1964 for both clubs membership.

gomoho 04-13-2013 06:18 PM

Well I am glad someone cleared that up 'cause I didn't think there were any "exclusive" clubs in TV. Have fun!

Heartnsoul 04-14-2013 04:59 PM

yes Lynn is the one to call (above no) next get together Sat night

Heartnsoul 04-23-2013 05:25 PM

we played some fun games the other night and useless trivia. Good club. give it a try.

graciegirl 04-23-2013 07:12 PM

Tickets

I understand you have to make arrangements ahead of time to go...like reservations or get a ticket. I was told you couldn't just drop on. I find it awfully hard to know for certain what I'm doing one minute to the next let alone one week or month in advance. We belong to many clubs and unless it is a paid, ticketed event we never have to call ahead. Does anyone else find that odd?

LI SNOWBIRD 04-24-2013 11:34 AM

I went

There was about 160 people there and we all had fun doing silly stunts. We got to meet some new people and had a good time. I'm definitely joining.

Want to borrow my "proof", I refuse to join any club that would have me as a member.

Rumor has it, that we will soon be a special immigration booth as we pass 466A.

The Flash 04-24-2013 03:04 PM

Can those north of 466 get a green card to join?? Or maybe someone can sign in loco parentis for me.

If you see a notice about the club can you post it? Sounds like fun!
