What's your wish south of 466A?
 

Since there will be thousands of residents south of 466A what would you like to see. Just a few things on my wish list....a TooJays in Brownwood, a hospital (would love to see an affiliate of the Cleveland Clinic) on 44 with an emerygency room that can treat you within a REASONABLE amount of time. A Lowes and a fitness center and a Walmart Super Center (you could go broke shopping at Publix). What is your wish?

I would love to see a Trader's Joes, Home Good's, Christmas Tree Shop. Old Navy. Sweet Bay grocery store, TJ Maxx.....

Some new eating establishments, something other than the one's we already have in Spanish Springs and Sumpter Landing.

Cancer Center of America

A planet Fitness gym, different supermarket company other than publics , good restaurants other than the same ones that are in all the squares, wife would like a Homegoods store, maby a lowes or Home Depot, a Costico .

An Ace hardware would be nice!

It's hard for me to understand why you are all so down on Publix. I find shopping at Publix to be the pleasantest hour of my week!

Me too Jeanne! I also shop for staples at Walmart but am addicted to the bakery at Publix and the ALWAYS WARM and PLEASANT and HELPFUL staff at our Publix store. Also the produce section looks much cleaner than Walmart.

If only they carried Worthmore's Mock Turtle Soup like Krogers does in Cincinnati.

I would LOVE a Starbuck's, especially if it had a drive-through.

I LOVE Publix. Compared to the other options, Publix wins hands down. I have shopped them all, I really like Fresh Market, but their prices are way out of sight. I have only twice gone into Sweetbay and the smell was so bad I won't go back. The otherhalf was in there recently for something and he mentioned "the peculiar smell in there". WallyMart does not do it for me either.

Publix is super clean, great staff who will do anything to help you, and carries just about everything I need.

Love Publix! Would also like to have a Home Goods, TJM, Macy's, Navy Fed CU, Dunkin Donuts and a WAWA!

Costco just raised their initiation fee. I let others decide if it was too much.
I hope all of you south of 466A get your wish. It will be beneficial for you and for the residents south of 466.

I can find all of the stores mentioned outside TV and at this point enjoy getting out of dodge with my wife to shop. so it is an enjoyable ride to Orlando, Ocala, etc. Miss Albertson here and in Mount Dora now all have disappeared from the area

We like Publix but also Sweet Bay Winn Dixie, Aldi's, Sam's and shop all of them for one reason or another.

I am being really really nice today because it my birthday and my wife says that the way I act today will be the way I'll act the rest of the year. So I am going to tread lightly all day and will defer as to how I will behave tomorrorw:D

Would like to see a Dunkin Donuts, Whole Foods, and a Panera Bread.

Does this "wish list" get noticed by The Villages Developer so that maybe they will contact any of these franchises to see if they are interested in opening within The Villages?

but....I know there will be lots of other shopping opportunities in the
Brownwood area.....even some brand stores and big box stores.

The survey that each of us submit yearly has a huge portion of our wants for businesses of every kind that are surely submitted to those businesses. One of the things that has happened is that much of our growth has happened in the last eight to ten years and the people who do the math, the demographers that large businesses consult have obviously missed us or didn't take a "little retirement community" seriously.

Economics 101...we are just recovering in this country from a major MAJOR economic downturn. Money for expansion has not been at the top of the lists for most businesses.

Things are beginning to look up for the country but no one has had the BOOM we have had here.

You don't just "open" a store. You have to contract for the lease for years and hire people to staff it and make a major financial commitment.

We have been here almost six years and you wouldn't believe the businesses that have come here in that time.

A giant indoor lap pool

All for the Dunkin Donuts, Ace is already S/O 466A, as for Publix I wish people who feel they're to expensive would go somewhere else to shop as it wouldn't be so crowded then, COSTCO would be nice as would Home Goods. As for another Hospital I don't think that's the answer. Maybe a few additional Urgent cares that stay open later.

I think the reason that people are down on Publix is that it is really expensive compared to any other market (except Fresh Market) and it is ungodly crowded. Even when the snowbirds go back its crowded. It's not their fault but I think, for,the most part, that's why people grump about it.

I like publix also , but it's good to have competition among business .

The Publix up off of Buenos Aires across from Lowes is never crowded! I live closer to Colony but I don't like the traffic!

I would love to see a performing arts center for groups similar to the Savannah center, a decent level grassy dog park, and some different places to eat.

Whole foods, TJ and i would be happy....i don't shop walmart or publix.....would love a lifetime fitness with indoor pool

I would be so happy if Trader Joe's and Costco would come to this area. Then I feel the area would be complete.

I'm finding it interesting that the vast majority of posters on this thread all have some sort of material wants. More stores to spend money in. I've noticed that only a couple of people have mentioned things like a lap pool or performing arts center. I don't think anyone asked for a library or churches. Most interesting.

There is a library and there are churches so I wouldn't read too much into that. BTW: Dog park

Could not help but notice that also. Personally I would like to see another bowling alley, dog park, tennis courts and baseball fields. Do not believe any of those are currently planned for south of 466A.

FYI: The library in the County bldg, 466A & Powell Rd, will be easily accessible via golf carts once the construction in that area is completed.

Instead of posting here, why not complete your resident survey? There is still time to do that. The Developer has a section and reads the "wish list".
