The modern Arab world!! You have seen those architectural wonders of Dubai .
However, none are hooked up to a sewer system!

The two minute video below passes a line of poop trucks and never gets to the end of the line. What were these people thinking?

An unbelievable amount of sewage is generated by the new high-rises and there is no place to dispose of it. Camel sense seems about right!

Dubai doesn't have a sewage system for all those big new buildings so they haul it all away in tank trucks.
Look at the number of tank trucks that are waiting to dump their load.

This is amazing. They wait for days to dump their load.

You would have thought that by building all those huge skyscrapers they would have enough sense to put in a sufficient sewage system to haul away all that crap.

You would imagine that those building that look amazingly beautiful were built on a well-planned system of utilities. But, that's NOT TRUE!!

this video is 4 yrs old.. it was a temporary solution while the sewer system was being put in.. it still was an amazing "poop train" though, wasn't it?

Info from Wikipedia says the issue did exist in 2009 but states that ".....at present the entirety of Dubai is connected to a central sewage system", citing an article from Oct. 2012 as their source:

I would think that the sewage line is one of the first things that should go into a build-up.

In the early 80's I lived in a neighborhood in Seoul, Korea that didn't have a central sewage system. The SSTs (S*** Sucking Trucks) came through just about every day.

One day, as I was walking to work, I was nearly run over by one of the sewage trucks. I was imagining the Army having to notify my next of kin that I was killed by a truck full of poop.

When our mariner son was there, they were piping it into the ocean. That was around 2009. He said they had all these new high rises and man made islands with villas, etc., and the ocean around them was very fowl.
