Permanent Eye Brows

OK...I finally did it...Permanent Eyebrows..Amazing ..love them..I certainly did lots of research before having this done..checked on a few technician in our area even went to Orlando and spoke to a few but never got the right "vibe" from any of them. Recently I saw an ad in The Daily Sun for New Brow..New You...Licensed Aesthetician...KIM FORSBERG...she offers a free complimentary consultation..so I called her and while on the phone they told me she was giving $100 off permanent make-up treatment..so that was a treat.
Kim is very professional and very knowledgeable in her field. I finally got that good "vibe" I have been looking for..after all it is your face your dealing with. Kim uses a very different technique check out her web page: wwwthismakeupgirl.com
I highly recommend Kim Forsberg for permanent make-up by the way she's located here in The Villages.

There are quite a few Laura Mercier eyebrow pencils for sale on Ebay. Many times when product is discontinued, it ends up on Ebay. Good luck!

I had mine done 3 years ago by Sherri at Cal's in Spanish Springs. She was awesome and they still look great. It was the best money I ever spent as my face sweats so bad (the only part of me that sweats) and my eyebrows would just slide right off with what I used before getting them tattooed! They were my first and only tattoo and it didn't hurt. I highly recommend having it done.

simpkinp 04-19-2013 08:57 PM

Another vote for Sharie Gardner at Cal's Barbershop in Spanish Springs. I go about every couple of years for a touch up, so they always look great. She also did my eyeliner, above and below my eyes. She does a good job and is a very nice person.

I am having mine done this morning by Sherri. What will I look like immediately after? Will there be blood, swelling, will I have to stay home for a period of time so no one will see me? I guess I should have asked these questions before I decided to have it done.

fraurauch 11-25-2013 05:54 AM

One additional question. The procedure itself costs $199.00. What would be an appropriate tip for this, or do you think a tip is required at all?

Blessed2BNTV 11-25-2013 07:15 AM

My girlfriend had it done last month and loves them, and they do look great. I'm thinking of doing it as well.

juneroses 11-25-2013 07:45 AM

I'm interested in knowing what the end product looks like after Sherri has done your brows. Do your brows look "feathery" or are they more of a "line" over your eye?

fraurauch 11-25-2013 08:14 AM

I just got a call that they would have to re-schedule my appointment until Wednesday, so I won't be able to answer your questions until after that.

I would definitely tip, as I do my hairdresser or nail tech. The amount of tip depends on the job and how happy I am with the service. I usually tip 20% if I am totally satisfied and then if not, it goes down from there. Sound like a lot of people are happy with the quality of work performed by this individual.

Josie70 11-25-2013 09:04 AM

I had mine done also By Sherri she is good. You will love wakeing up in the morning with brows....They look feathery....

How does the eyeliner look? I don't know anyone who has had this done so I'm curious as to how it looks. And how much did it cost? Are you able to post a pic of your eyes for me to see....? :)
Thanks

Great discussion! I too have had thoughts of doing this but still have some brow left...the wider part up to the "peak". So would she shave this or integrate the tattoo with it. Another question would be, gravity takes it's toll as we age so would this end up doing that as well?? I'd love to hear comments from folks who've had this several years ago...and if they're still happy. Is the $199.00 pretty standard or should one shop around?

Foruhun 11-25-2013 12:34 PM

Good luck. I hope you are happy with results and will let us know how it went. I'm considering having it done also. Thanks

Cals at Spanish Springs will be having an open house on December 4th from 6-8 pm. Lots of information on the things that women are interested in. Sherri will be there and can answer questions about permanent tattooing . There will be hair stylists, jewelry, someone fitting women's jeans and I will be there discussing skin care, BOTOX and fillers. Appetizers and prizes. Please join us.

DougB 11-25-2013 11:37 PM

Does Sherri do tramp stamps?

graciegirl 11-25-2013 11:38 PM

I'd do my eyebrows but I'd be afraid of looking like Groucho Marx.

Ok Gracie, that was funny!

Yeah, but I high jacked a thread. Since I am doing natural hair which is WHITE WHITE... I prefer to think of it as platinum, my eyebrows are brown...were brown, and now they are kinda...disappearing.

and some of them are rearriving on my lower face.

I hope that girl who is disdainful of old-er people isn't reading this. She doesn't know that with misplaced eyebrows comes wisdom.

Always looking for better tweezers,
Gracie

fraurauch 11-26-2013 05:08 PM

Gracie, my hair is white-white, too. And the few eyebrows that do grow are coming in white and wirey. I pull them out as they grow. That's why I'm getting my eyebrows done. I wonder what happens afterward, if my own eyebrows continue to grow. I should have asked all of this. Oh well!

Didiwinbob 11-27-2013 07:28 PM

I recently had my eyebrows done today, I'm unable to upload the pics ( Gracie I need help with this, please).
Sheri Gardner @ Cal's in Spanish Springs. I'm less than 24 hrs post application with no discomfort or swelling. I am very pleased with the result. I will expect some fading over the next couple of weeks.
I'm unable to load pic

JP 11-27-2013 08:09 PM

My Mom had eyebrows done. I think they look great but I had to ask her how she decided on what emotion she wanted to convey. She hit me.

I also am very interested to see the end result. I have no idea how it's done, but I'm curious. I assume they tattoo the skin to look like eyebrows, using feathery strokes?

Josie70 11-28-2013 11:00 PM

Feathery I had them done also by sherri..love them..

Thanks for the picture ... there doesn't appear to be any swelling at all.
Did it hurt? Did you also get eye liner?

Jhooman 11-29-2013 10:24 AM

Just had my brows and eyes done 4 days ago. I love it. Some swelling and discomfort, but tolerable. Sherri did a great job. My first tattoo too and I'm wearing it on my face.

You had your eye liner done also? Bravely done! Did you have a choice of brown or black?

I cannot imagine having anyone do a tattoo so close to my eyeball, especially if it hurts. Do they do allergy testing first?

sharonga 11-29-2013 12:20 PM

I had my eyelids and eyebrows done by Judy at Making Faces in Summerfield. She was wonderful. Hardly any pain. Crusty eyebrows for a week or 2. Nothing terrible.

No swelling. I did not get the eye liner. I don't wear eye make up

Eyebrows

So glad to see this post popup..I wrote it back in April and still haven't gotten my permanent eyebrows..but Iam still looking to have it done..maybe this winter won't be in the pool as much..I just saw in the Recreation News the All About Healthy Skin club on Dec 10th at 7PM at Truman Rec Center the guest speaker will be Kris Carroll, a permanent make-up artist will be talking..I put it on my calendar and hope to be able to speak to her. I have seen her ad in the Daily Sun..but if anyone has had this done I would appreciate your input..Thanks

sharonga 12-06-2013 02:04 PM

Looks great. I went to Making Faces, Linda in Summerfield. Also very good work

sharonga 12-06-2013 02:06 PM

I had the eyeliner done too. I am allergic to the red dye in colors. They did mine in black. No problem. I absolutely love it. Going for touch up in January. Not touching up eyebrows, just eyeliner. Yes, hurt a little.

MoeVonB61 12-07-2013 11:48 PM

I heard that Merle Norman Cosmetics next to Belk's also does them but at a cost of $300.00....I have had mine done twice - once in Orlando and also NJ-they fade out completely after a few years. Let me know how it goes....HINT: Ask your MD to call you in a prescription of Lidocaine cream to numb your eyebrows before you go....!!

scarecrow1 12-08-2013 08:40 AM

I've had permanent eyebrows for going on 62 years. I was born with them !!!!!!!!!
