Personally, I'd say Lopez as my favorite with Cane Garden as a close second.

gomoho 05-04-2013 07:03 PM

Can't say I have a favorite - pretty much all the same???

gocubsgo 05-04-2013 07:05 PM

Yes, it is golf cart accessible.

To the OP, I would advise against Outback.

We went there today (by golf cart), and while the service was impeccable, the food (steak/garlic mashed potatoes/French onion soup)..... were nowhere near worth the price. :(

For a good steak value, I recommend getting in the car....and going to Longhorn.

I agree Gracie!! Only restaurant that I know of around here that has real veal, and is panned fried in olive oil, and is tender and not chewy

tainsley 05-05-2013 06:11 AM

Arnold Palmer and Nancy Lopez Country Clubs!

l2ridehd 05-05-2013 06:22 AM

Thai Ruby, Bamboo Bistro, and Athens.

I would second Thai Ruby but definitely pass on Bamboo Bistro.

collie1228 05-05-2013 08:56 AM

We love Bamboo Bistro!

Last night we ate at Luigino's. We had a very nice meal and a very polite waiter. I never complain about huge servings and the spaghetti bolagnese I had was so large what I took home I think I can make 2 more meals out of. We have eaten at a few other restaurants but none of the country clubs yet.

jpharmat 05-05-2013 04:21 PM

We love Thai Ruby.

justjim 05-05-2013 04:40 PM

I would recommend Bonefish for seafood and Arnold Palmer for steak. Carabbas for Italian.

mountaineergirl 05-05-2013 04:46 PM

We love Bamboo Bistro too!

Yum. It's one of the few chains that we think has consistently good food. (Brio's is another, but they are in Millenia Mall in Orlando).

We got hooked on Carabbas in MI and are happy that Carabbas here is equally as good. Went there for lunch today. I was very good and eschewed the white sangria, but now I am sad...

Have changed my opinion since dinner last night - Hacienda Hills has excellent food.:pepper2:

Lighthouse--we went there for lunch while house hunting. Loved it then and still do! When we feel like indulging in a little gluttony, we go there for fried egg sandwiches, although I think they're off the menu now. :cus:

And Bonefish Grill. Love that place just as much as Lighthouse. When we want to spend too much money on dinner, we go there! :icon_hungry:

asianthree 05-06-2013 08:50 AM

Lighthouse

Nancy Lopez :icon_hungry: ... Nancy Lopez Country Club!
Nancy's name is not on the restaurant.
It's the Legacy Country Club Restaurant to be accurate.

Outside of the usual country clubs that are good, definitely Bonefish Grill. This begs the question. With Bonefish Grill always crowded, there has to be clientele here in The Villages for more upscale restaurants. Can be a dump as long as the food is excellent. Recently I wrote in Tripadvisor my comment about a Hank's Oyster Bar in DC area. It is a very unassuming place but great food. A case in point.

stuckinparadise 05-06-2013 10:39 AM

Everytime my husband and I make our monthly trip to the Villages we stop in at RJ Gators. We sit at the bar and have Gatoritas and a snack and it feels like being home. We love talking with Carrie at the bar. She really knows how to make a great drink. I do agree with many others on this thread, Bonefish Grill and Carrabas are very good restaurants. I'm anxious to finally move next month so we can check out all the great places mentioned on TOTV.

We love Cotillion Southern Cafe in Wildwood (on Rte 301 a couple of blocks south of Rte 466A) for something different. The food is delicious (Southern, as the name indicates) and the decor is eclectic, mismatched Southern. The desserts (all made in-house) are to-die-for so save room! I suggest you make reservations; the restaurant is small and they often have people waiting outside
