The Great Gatsby - Anyone See It Yet?
I am planning on seeing The Great Gatsby sometime during my visit to TV. Has anyone seen it yet and would like to give their review? And should it be seen in 3D or the non-3D version?
|
I am saw it in the non-3D, and even with that I got a little light headed with some of the special effects, had to look away. That's why I don't go to a lot of 3D movies, just depends on how I feel. Very visual movie and liked the actors in it, fun to watch.
|
Saw it in 3D....not worth seeing IMHO...too much extravaganza...the men look better than the women and the dialog is poor...watch a few episodes of Doc Martin on Netflix...time better spent.
|
Did not see the movie in 3D but thoroughly enjoyed it. If you enjoy that era definitely worth your time - great costumes and music.
|
I liked the book and enjoyed the movie, especially the costumes and historic panoramas of NYC. The Barnstorm theater is a good venue. I recommend the 3D.
|
I would see it again

I sent an e-mail to the Chicagoland Club last week to see if there was a meeting this month but did not get an answer. Tell all the other Schaumburgers and Hoffman Estates people that I am holding down the fort for them in the land just west of O'Hare. |

But it is one of the many quirks of TOTV, a forum for retired people who love to communicate and most times we stay on track and sometimes we get off track when we are exchanging ideas and information. I am German too Shaumburg, Laura! You knew that. ;) Hopelessly off track now and the topicop has his whistle in his mouth and has a red face. I am hiding. |
I saw Gatsby in 3D on Monday night at LSL. Visually it was a beautiful movie, and the costume designer should get an Academy Award. Good, but not great, acting jobs. According to the credits, the movie was filmed in Australia, which surprised me.
|
I agree not n 3d. But it was a fun and beautiful movie

Saw it in 2D yesterday. I liked the performances, sets, lighting, wardrobe, etc.
The music was different, but integrated well. Wasn't annoying, as I thought it might be. Leonardo and Tobey were VERY good. i fell a little flat from the vision of Carrie Mulligan as Daisy, but I am not a casting director. (didn't like Mia Farrow as Daisy either, for what it's worth.) If you like Leonardo, go see it! |
4 of us saw it in 3D yesterday and loved it.
Would see it again. |
