What would you like in Brownwood and the near area

1. A good high end place to eat like J. Alexander

2. A Dairy Queen

3. A good European bakery (which I hear is coming)

4. A coffeehouse supporting new music

5. A great place to get a massage

6. Lots of scenes that involve dancing, mixing, and connecting

kittygilchrist 06-10-2013 06:16 PM

i would like the locals to enjoy employment and income opportunities.
then it's all me, me, me.

seashorecaroline 06-10-2013 06:37 PM

Rita's water ice. Yummm.......

NotGolfer 06-10-2013 06:44 PM

Do you mean Brownville OR Brownwood??? If the latter...whatever the developer puts in will be wonderful as is the rest of this beautiful planned community!!! LOVE it here!!!!!!

Oh whatever the new square is..I'm terrible with names. Mod please fix my error.

marianne237 06-10-2013 06:59 PM

DQ or Mystic Ice Cream or Ollie's custards would be nice.

asianthree 06-10-2013 07:15 PM

breakfast place

Yankee Quilter 06-10-2013 08:32 PM

Trader Jes and several different restuarants
drawing from the area not ignoring those of us who happily are frogs... Waiting to live until Nov ....?..

batman911 06-10-2013 08:44 PM

A large park with lots of large Oak trees and moss. I find it odd that a population center the size of TV does not have a large park. One of the downsides of not being a city.

Lpierleo 06-10-2013 10:02 PM

GeeWiz, I like your thoughts. I would also like to see in the near area a mall with an anchor such as Macy's and naturally my husband would like a Sears.

Lbmb24101 06-10-2013 10:14 PM

More casual restaurants and one high end eatery, a cvs, ( don't care for walgreens too much), a park w trees is a nice idea.
we do not need more pizza, or financial planners!!

DougB 06-10-2013 10:45 PM

Hooters!

justjim 06-10-2013 11:10 PM

More restaurants for starters. A good steakhouse and seafood restaurant and an all night dinner that serves breakfast all day long. My wife wants a Dillard's and/ or Macy's. What the heck, that would save gas!

TVMayor 06-10-2013 11:15 PM

A train connecting the squares and the historical area. A train like at the Detroit Zoo.

I'm always in favor of a good "Breastaurant".

A Katie-Belle's type nightclub restaurant with live entertainment every night, state of the art sound system, and five-star restaurant. This would fit in very nicely with the architecture of the old-west town.

Also, how about another Church-on-the-square? No matter how much they enlarge and remodel the existing one, it will soon be too small.

The planners should replicate the venues that have worked well in the past.

YES. a park with all that and benches and a small duck pond. Like the little plaza next to Church on the Square, but larger.
And a Trader Joe's and a DQ and more local restaurants.

kittygilchrist 06-11-2013 09:09 AM

It is Brownwood for the square. maybe they're calling the shops brownville? My maiden name is Brown and Geewiz' is Brown, so we could be cousins!
I tire of driving so far to shop from home in Gilchrist...happy to have any new retail or eatery. heard a Walmart is going in on 44 west...
can we hear it for postal service?

The train looks something like the one at the St. Louis Zoo. Well, this would put the final touch to an Adult Wally World! Actually, I've thought about free transportation in TV between the squares, grocery stores and other shopping. Some clean (air) and comfortable buses running every 30 minutes is more what I had in mind. Just a thought.......:gc:

ha ha, that's cute! It can be confusing because the square is called Paddock Square, but the shopping area is Brownwood. Unlike Spanish Springs and Sumter Landing, where the square and the shopping have the same name. This will cause some confusion for a long time, but we'll all deal with it just fine.

:agree: that looks cool!

gocubsgo 06-11-2013 10:26 AM

Well, there are new shops and stores opening in Wildwood (like the new bakery I mentioned). Golf cart access to those areas would be nice but not gonna happen I'm afraid.

golfer808 06-11-2013 10:41 AM

PF Changs...I'm going through withdrawal. I haven't found a good Chinese restaurant anywhere around TV.

How about something like the Red Train in St Augustine? It does not require a track and can run two or three trains with several cars and make the entire circuit in an hour's time (or less).

Z

kittygilchrist 06-11-2013 11:45 AM

wowzer! monorail to Spanish Springs.

LuckySevens 06-11-2013 12:31 PM

Actually the Spanish Springs square is called Town Square and the LSL square is called Market Square, at least on the official map!

TraceyMooreRN 06-11-2013 06:46 PM

Texas Roadhouse would fit with the theme

All the park land has been turned into golf courses!

Actually Connie, Lake Sumter Landing is called Market Square. But I agree, why so many different names? It should be Brownwood, Lake Sumter Landing and Spanish Springs.

geri317 06-11-2013 08:45 PM

A coffee shop! A breakfast place that isn't Toojays. Toojays is fine but it would be nice to have something different.

travelguy 06-11-2013 09:08 PM

Parks, we have no parks. I would love to stroll but if you are not a golfer you can't go onto the golf courses. Am so surprised that Sumter Copunty has not mandated land to be set aside for parkland.

Have you tried Sonrise Cafe in Southen Trace?

Serenoa 06-12-2013 02:40 PM

how about an indoor ski resort, like they built in Dubai, UAE a few years ago?

the snowbirds would feel right at home.

shouldn't cost too much. Mr. H. Gary Morse could write a check for it, I'm sure. :D

and if they could get started on it soon it might be ready when we finally move to TV in a few years. :D

A Texas Roadhouse would go so well with the Brownwood theme and they have great little steaks. I also agree that a Dairy Queen would be nice. Nothing like their chocolate dipped cones.

Shimpy 06-12-2013 06:28 PM

There is absolutely nothing to attract people to Brownwood in the morning until they have a couple of choices for breakfast. You'd be surprised how many of us are early risers and breakfast is our favorite meal. I'm not talking about donuts or pastry's but a full breakfast menu including eggs, bacon, pancakes, potatoes, etc.
At least Lake Sumter has a lake and boardwalk that people enjoy. Brownwood has nothing until lunch or evening.

We also don't need more jewlery stores, nail shops or dress shops.
