Orange Blossom Premium Pool
Now that the restaurant is closed for renovations, can you still get a drink by the pool?

I'm thinking no, unless you bring your own.
|
Are all residents allowed to use that pool or do you have to pay some sort of fee?

Went to orange blossom pool last week. I was told the only type of floats allowed are the little arm band type for little kids ,all others are banned. I asked why and was told that's what the members voted on. I saw no adults floating around the pool.

To answer my own question, we had a chance to drive by Orange Blossom today. The Tiki Bar was indeed closed and they had a sign out saying that only water may be carried in. The attendant said that it could be closed for between 40 days and 6 months! We drive up the road and I am enjoying a frozen Margarita at HaciendaAttachment 15475

Tiki Bar take-over
Many fellow residetns have been meeting at the Tiki bar for years. Can someone just open the Tiki Bar up with a liquor license until TV Villages figures out what to do with the old resturant?
|
sure is a big difference between 40 days and 6 months! doesn't sound like we are talkin' cleaning and refurb!
|
Yikes! 6 MONTHS?!

From what I've heard it was privately owned and The Villages came in and told him he had to do 80,000 dollars worth of upgrades, which he did not have, so he had to close it. I guess it will be reopened by someone else after the renovations are complete. Not sure how true that information is.:mmmm:

BTW where did you hear all of this? |

Doesn't sound like they have anybody interested in opening and running a restaurant there, otherwise they could do it much quicker...IMO. |
Tiki Bar closed...BYOB and food
|
I heard the deck furniture in the Tiki Bar area has been removed by the former owner.
. |
Is this the beginning of the end ??

Orange Blossom's predicament is a too often senario here in The Villages which I find disturbing. Also after living here for over six years I question the legitimacy of the Priority Programs and believe they fly in the face of the "live like a millionaire on your pension....marketing claims.

The pool chairs are all there. It's a great pool and now no more smoking so you can actually sit on that side of the pool and enjoy !
|
The bottom line is when it reopens the new operator will pay more for his lease and thus the meals and drinks will cost more than the old operator charged. No more 6.99 omlets on sunday.
