Cody's

I have lived here 13 years and have never been negative concerning a restaurant. Just left Cody's. Wife and I sat at the bar to have snacks. We each had three drinks to go with our snacks. She, three house wines @ 5.98 each, total $17.94. I had three Coor's light drafts $10.95 for a total of $28.89 plus tax's and tip. When we were leaveing I spoke to a manager. Stated that the prices were too high and that they have lost two customers. His response was go to Palm Beach County and see.

Side note: Wife and I dine out mostly every night !!!! :cus:

If you want cheap wine, go to Paris. 3 euros a glass for the house wine. These people have to make a buck. You're not eating dinner, sitting at the bar and not eating dinner. Did you pay for the snacks, or were they free? I'm sorry, I just don't see where you got ripped off. Three draftrs for $10.95? That's cheap! You've been in the bubble too long

Just in New York City, on Broadway $7.00 for wine. I'm sure you don't go out in The Villages often !!!!!

DougB 06-27-2013 09:16 PM

I don't get it. If you thought the prices were too high, why did you buy three a piece?

Huh. Wonder where, and under what circumstances? A special of some sort? I never had a glass of wine in Manhattan for less than ten bucks.

I don't think that's outrages but you can go across the street to TGIF for $3.00 wine. The thing that bothers me the most is the answer from the manager. I was in the restaurant business my whole adult life and that is not appropriate .... I guess asking how much something is and not taking it for granted is the way to go if you are looking for a bargain.

We were at codys last night and had some drinks and a bar burger. The bar burgers are now sliders, smaller but still a good taste for the price. I only drink at happy hour so the 28 bucks would of been 14.

I was there the other night and there were flyers all over the place about Happy Hour until close. I didn't pay that for my beers.

DonH57 06-28-2013 09:36 AM

We've been to Cody's as well as other places in TV for dinner and I've never paid that much for drafts either.

PennBF 06-28-2013 09:53 AM

cheaper

AAh, how much more healthy it would have been to have a Club Soda and enjoy life to its fullest extent.:D

We find Cody's the best location for the following reasons:

Wait staff. Very good
Bartenders. Excellent
Food. Very good
Management. Adequate

I do not think Cody's will miss them at all. Always pretty filled with happy customers!

Villageshooter 06-28-2013 09:46 PM

and now allllll the customers pay for every thing!, no more free drinks!

Trayderjoe 06-29-2013 07:25 AM

We like eating at Cody's and have only had one less than desirable wait staff member in all of the times we have been there. We will definitely be back......

erictarleton 07-30-2013 08:03 PM

Annual visitors to The Villages and go to Cody's every time we visit at least 3 or 4 times. Noticed that since last year prices for food have rocketed. Wife's small steak from $15.98 to $19.98! Not sure of the reason.

Fewer cattle to slaughter these days, partly due to increased cost of feed.

I think you'll notice the same at EVERY restaurant! Been to a grocery store lately?

gomsiepop 08-02-2013 05:29 PM

I was always a fan of Cody's until I saw a pattern. In season when the snowbirds are here the food is superior. The wait staff has been and still is great. Now I am living in TV full time. It is August and the last two times at Cody's the meal was dry and tasted as though it had been reheated. When I went to the restroom I found it to be dirty. My husband and I won't go to Cody's anymore until the snowbirds return (maybe).

DougB 08-02-2013 09:38 PM

2 bad meals in the month of August isn't enough to determine a pattern.
