Pitiful

Reluctant to post this and didn't know exactly where to post it so please excuse the post and probably the location.

While my wife was looking around in Coldwater Creek tonight, I got into my car and circled the block a few times waiting for her. I was in a convertible so I had a wide open view of what was going on around me.

As I drove south on the short street adjacent to the Villages bus stop, between Cody's and TGI Fridays, I looked to my right and saw a Villager exposing himself and urinating in the parking lot across from the bus depot. It was about 7:30PM and it was still very bright outside. He was doing this next to his golf cart while smoking a cigarette. I stopped my car and yelled at him to no avail. He continued on for a couple of minutes and then merely zipped up and drove off.

He either didn't here me yelling, or didn't care. He appeared to be drunk to say the least.

Having not been to the square in a while, I sure hope this behavior is rare but it's not something that hasn't been mentioned on this site before.

Again, sorry for the post, but this jerk and his illegal behavior got to me. Sorry I didn't have my cell phone with me or I would have called the police.

I believe it's safe to say that this type of behavior is rare. Some "drunks" will behave badly---others are quite and just sleep it off. Sorry you saw the worst kind. I have noticed an increase of heavy drinkers in TV lately especially in and around Sumter Landing. The outside patio bars really encourage heavy drinking----some just dont know when enough is enough. I also have noticed a number of people just drinking and never eating anything. It's a disaster just waiting to happen.

Yep, and some poor little malti-poo probably got blamed.

Its a shame you couldn't have taken his picture, tastefully, as to not to show all of the um...particulars, and posted it on here.

Drinking is sometimes self medication for sadness and sometimes overdrinking is a bad habit and really over drinking gets to be an addiction.

I have tilted a few glasses in my day and thought I was REALLY intelligent and Very good looking.

But as far as I remember I never peed in public.

gmcneill 07-11-2013 07:33 AM

Evidently he thought that no p applied only to Lake Sumter itself.

Midvale 07-11-2013 07:39 AM

And with a public restroom a block away.

KARENNN 07-11-2013 07:49 AM

With all the camera phones these days, I surprised we haven't seen a video of the incident here yet. That would be a wake-up call for him!

zonerboy 07-11-2013 08:01 AM

"Exposing himself", really??? Was he circumcised or not??? Did he get naked??
How much could you really see?
Peeing in the parking lot is certainly unpleasant, but a major crime???
Is it really any worse than spitting, smoking, or chewing with your mouth open?
If this is all we have to worry about, we should be counting our blessings.

graciegirl 07-11-2013 08:03 AM

It's the heat.

Bay Kid 07-11-2013 08:23 AM

Maybe he didn't like all the smoke entering the public restroom.

Lesson Learned: always carry your cell phone. Take a picture or video, call the police, then show it to them. The guy should have been arrested.

What?

Here is a person violating public decency and mocking public law and some make fun of the situation or just justify it as a "so what". This is so outrages that it doesn't deserve a response. :mornincoffee:

Good points, never equated public urination with chewing food with your mouth open, but I guess in some levels or our society it's very similar.

I missed the part where I said it's a "major crime" but then again neither is keying a car and look where that's gone.

Glad none of the Villages summer campers where near the scene.

If this person was intoxicated, the scarey thing is he got in his vehicle and drove off, as the OP has posted.

manaboutown 07-11-2013 09:02 AM

These days I have my cell phone with me most of the time and take photos. Why not photograph someone behaving like this? Send the photo to the Daily Sun to publish (lol).

Wonder what he did with his cig butt?

How did he appear drunk? I'm not excusing him, but maybe he had a medical condition and knew he would not make it to the restroom even though it was only a block away. Might have been a long ride home with wet pants.

zonerboy 07-11-2013 09:36 AM

I wish to apologize to Bimmertl, the OP. Re-reading my prior post I can see that the tone was very demeaning. And this is entirely unnecessary.
I spent my life in the medical profession and have seen more naked bodies than I care to remember. Thus I do not consider any parts of the human body to be embarrassing or offensive.
In addition I think there is quite a difference between public urination and indecent exposure. Doesn't the act of indecent exposure usually involve some type of sexual arousal? Is it fair that a person arrested for urinating in public is considered to have committed a sex crime and may be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life?
At any rate there is too much belittling of other posters on this forum and I am sorry I was a participant.

You see no problem with urinating in public??? So our sidewalks, trees and bushes should be used a porta potties??? And garbage can be thrown on the sides of the roadway and in yards instead of trash bins? Where is your sense of pride in where you live? Urinating in Public is unacceptable. It is not something that is a joke or taken lightly. If we all take your attitude that its no big deal, then people will think that its ok to urinate in public. In fact.....it is not.

ilovetv 07-11-2013 10:28 AM

Well this ought to shut the door on the other thread about "outsiders"!

With PeeMan driving a golf cart it's safe to assume he is "one of us"!!

And he should not have been driving if drunk. I'd have followed him home or wherever and would stop with him in sight, to signal to other drivers I needed a cell phone call to be made.

Hind sight is always 20/20....

jbdlfan 07-11-2013 10:47 AM

Seen this happen more than once at Spanish Springs. Next to Margarita Republic there is a Beer shed and large evergreen bush. There are a few folks that use the bush as a toilet. Pretty disgusting if you ask me.
And yes, we did confront the dude one time. He laughed, swore at us and continued his thing. Nope didn't contact the police.

Halibut 07-11-2013 11:26 AM

I guess ... if I was in Los Angeles or Dallas or any other urban area and saw a guy urinating in a public park or doorway, I wouldn't follow him or take a picture or call the police. So I wouldn't do that in TV, either.

Yes, it's illegal but on the scale of crimes not something I'd consider to be personally worth pursuing. I'd simply assume the guy was drunk and would be ashamed of himself the next day, but people have posted about golfers relieving themselves on the course and I gotta figure they're (mostly) sober.

But honestly, my reaction to public urination is more along the lines of shaking my head, "What is wrong with people? Gawd!" So I have to say zonerboy and I are kind of on the same page with that.

Well it's only been 150 years or so since everyone urinated in public or at least outside. I wouldn't call this case public per se, outside yes but to me public would have been in the middle of the square or walking down the side walk. I would guess most people at some point in their lives have disposed of urine somewhere besides a "bathroom". Maybe the poor guy has some sore of bladder issue or infection that just sprung up. What is the saying of the great forgiver "let him with out sin cast the first stone"

aln 07-11-2013 02:22 PM

I'd be careful with pics.....

Send to police but don't post ... you'd probably get sued!

Suzi 07-11-2013 02:38 PM

This is a "guy" thing. IMO it is a nasty "habit". Men think if they gotta go....they take a quick look around, and just pull it out and go. I think men find it easier to urinate wherever they are rather than be looking for a rest room. I don't think men like to be inconvienenced. Golf courses/bushes during the day and the-shadows near the squares during the evenings. Nasty.

No, it's NOT just a guy thing. Men may do it in greater numbers, but I have seen women relieving themselves outdoors in public, too. But since they're not standing in an upright position like men they're just not as easily seen. So don't make it sound like men are the only ones who can be "nasty".

Happinow 07-11-2013 05:47 PM

Sereona, you've seen women go to the bathroom in public? You mean like on the sidewalks, on the golf courses or in spaces like that? That's what this man was apparently doing. I find it hard to believe that a woman would be so bold to relieve herself that publically. The only time I would go to the bathroom "in public" was when I was a very young little girl my parents would take us to our grandparents house. Their house was remotely located. As it would be traveling with little kids, we had to go on the way there. My dad would find a dirt road, not a soul on it, and Pull over so we could pee. We hid behind the car, not seen by anyone. My grandparents house was not near any gas stations or stores where we could find a rest room. To me, that was acceptable. But, to have adults relieve themselves in public is disrespectful to others and piggy.

zonerboy 07-11-2013 06:54 PM

Has anyone here ever gone backpacking? Or on a particularly lengthy day hike? If so I would presume you have urinated outside. And unless it was on your own private property, it could be considered "pubic" urination (despite the fact that you went behind a bush).
I'm not a mind-reader, but I'm willing to assume the guy mentioned in the original post was not aware he was being observed. Still, peeing in the parking lot is a bit uncouth, but is it really that much more outrageous than picking one's nose, spitting on the sidewalk, or "breaking wind" when others are present?

duffysmom 07-11-2013 07:22 PM

In order for a man who is fully clothed to pee he has to expose himself. My solution is to carry a "cattle prod". Here is why a cattle prod would be effective in this situation.

"The voltage in a stun gun is high enough to dump electricity into the entire body. The lower voltage in a cattle prod only shocks someone at the point of contact."

Now you know my feelings about peeing in public.

To begin utilizing nature as your personal possession is contrary to civility. Having said that normally two issues create urgency. First your too drunk to feel and hence create your urgency. Secondly advanced years have diminished control and hence urgency strikes at odd moments. How many of the guys reading this have seen someone in their foursome run behind a tree. I saw a guy on Bacall right out in the open and said nothing as their were two women in our foursome and I didn't want to bring attention to him
So far I have managed my manners
