Constuction at CR 466A and Powell Road
Anyone know what is being built at the corner of 466A and Powell Road by the library?
|
Could be Walgreens I believe it was stated they were adding a store down that way. Also there was an article I believe in the POA question and answer section about other Gas stations coming. So take your pic.
|
Behind the Walgreens under construction is the Sweetbay shopping center under construction. If you do a search you'll see some threads from a couple of months ago, I believe originally it was going to be a Publix. The Villages Sun newspaper had several articles about what new stores were signing up, Yogurt, Subway, etc., I think about 25 rental spaces.
|
darn! I was so looking fwd to another publix.
|
I am thinking that this is Pinella's Plaza, when you look on Villages.com under new to the Villages there are a lot of stores listed for Pinella's plaza
|
Stores coming to Pinellas Place:

I'm not talking about the Sweetbay-Pinellas Plaza complex.
This is the lot right on the southeast corner. |

We noticed that yesterday and my first thought was maybe that is where the bank is going to be. Not next to the plaza but over on the corner in front of the county bldg. |

Guess that means the question of what is being built at 466A and Powell is still open. |
I still go with Walgreens !
|
Drove down there today...we're thinking that building the OP is asking about could be the new USF/health clinic. It's amazing how this whole complex is shaping up!!!

sorry to post again right away, but are these solar nails like little panels that light your nails up without polish? pewwh. who wouldn't want those?
|
We desperately need a PUBLIX grocery store south of 466A.
|
:agree: Nada Publix Despderado Club :grumpy:
|
Ok, so I do not know what is being built north of the county bldg on 466A but as I think about it I can not help but wonder if by chance we might be getting a 2nd gas station/convenience store on 466A???
|
No surprise if it is, and needed in that area.

Sorry, Link didn't work |
A Dunkin Donuts would be nice. I miss my Dunkin coffee fixes on a regular basis.

Multi Path
Curious why they did not put a multi path along 466A towards the Plaza?
|
I heard it was a gas station:pepper2:

I was really hoping for a gas station. Looks like we're about out of room on 466A another station. Guess we're stuck with the one by Colony. Oh well.

There's room along there but it's not cart accessible.

Somewhere a link was posted as to the layout of that entire area. It may have been in the Sumter County Commissioners agenda notes. I am sure Bill can come up with that one quick and easy. VG |
Not good!

I have not heard the current status of the project. Don't even think about TV developer putting in a cart path on the west side of Buena Vista and along 466a to give golf cart access to this area. Plus this: Golf carts. Golf carts may be allowed to utilize the multi-use paths within the Project pending final engineering approval at the time of site plan. The City shall ensure the allowance Trailwinds Planned Development Agreement of golf carts within the Project does not present a safety concern. The Developer is aware that golf carts are not allowed to access or cross CR 466A per the regulations of Sumter County I would have thought that TV developer would have purchased that property but I guess he has his price limits. So I guess we will all have to wait to see what and when Word Family, LLC decides to do. VG |
