One of my co-workers lives in Nocatee, in Ponte Vedra FL, which is east of Jacksonville and north of St. Augustine. His neighbor took the attached picture of an animal crossing through his yard yesterday. Wow!

bobcat. sad to see him without a forest.

A fellow golfer told me last week that he has a bobcat in his neck of the woods (Hadley if I remember correctly). Could just be a story.

Bobcat- see the bobbed tail!

duffysmom 08-19-2013 06:47 PM

We lived on a barrier island 3 hours south of here and we had bobcats, no forest.

pooh 08-19-2013 07:44 PM

They're around....had one on our street a few months ago. Next door neighbor saw the large feline walking into the front yard of the house across the street from her. Our friend who lives in the yard the bobcat was heading to, has also seen one walking along our street in the past.

I like it here, but I feel sad and even guilty about the displaced wildlife.

obxgal 08-19-2013 08:14 PM

We a bobcat 3 years ago walking on the wall in of our cyv in Duval. Asked community watch about it and he said, they're around.

I saw 4 bobcats crossing the ninth fairway at Pelican last week. And I didn't lose any golf balls! It was a good day!

Yep, they are surely here in TV's. We live in the Village of Poinciana, our lanai backs unto Bailey Trail and we have seen several sightings of a bobcat in the parking area near the pool. Perhaps it was thirsty???? Yes, they are certainly here....

We live in De La Vista East .....we have some in the Nature Preserve behind our house. Many trees back there. We love to watch them.

kittygilchrist 08-20-2013 07:18 AM

ooh. that is beautiful.

NoMoSno 08-20-2013 08:03 AM

They are beautiful.
The displacement issue is sad, and will continue.

Keep the house cats in.

Being at the top of the food chain, they can become a problem if an area becomes overpopulated with them.

I'm sure FL F&G is aware, and has a trap and relocate program.

Lots of fox around also...

Bobcat

Yes, we live in Mission Hills on the water and saw one swimming after the coots.
