5 Guys burgers

5 Guys have just opened in Londons Covent Garden area!! Lines are round the block!! Second one to open in Reading, next month.

buggyone 08-26-2013 07:29 AM

It is amazing how 5 Guys grew so big. They were just a small store in Virginia that the locals loved - famous for their french fries. The Washingtonian Magazine had them rated #1 for years in row for the best hamburger in the DC area. I was there a few times back when I lived in Maryland. We were very surprised to find one here in The Villages.

The burgers are delicious and the toppings are great. Always freshly made. I do not have any negatives about them at all. The stores are always clean, good service, and great tasting food.

Go 5 Guys!

MikeV 08-26-2013 09:05 AM

I love 5 guys burgers also.

BarryRX 08-26-2013 09:57 AM

I just wish they would put some more fries in the bag:beer3:

zcaveman 08-26-2013 11:18 AM

We finally went there and found it to be an overpriced Burger King.

The only good thing were the fries.

Don't know what's taking so long for them to open up in Brownwood. Each week the report is that interior design is pending. You would think they would be opening up more venues in Brownwood as it's been quite awhile since City Fire opened. Although I did notice that the beer place looked close to opening.
Skip 2
P.S. Love the fries and burgers

I thought that someone posted a couple of weeks ago that World of Beer at Brownwood is opening sometime in the first week of September, which would be next week. :beer3:

5 Guys a "best" burger? Really? Average at best in my opinion... They make a nice "salad" (the toppings), but the burger, the meat, leaves a lot to be desired.

southguy66 08-26-2013 02:19 PM

They are way overpriced. If you want a great cheeseburger and fries, you can't beat Chi's Grill.

leftyf 08-27-2013 07:17 AM

I would have to say that their fries are awesome. The burgers are OK.

oldyeller 08-27-2013 07:22 AM

5 guys is good although we went to Johnny Rockets at SL for the first time ever and was very surprised at how good the burger was. It good to have choices in getting a good burger.

Bill-n-Brillo 08-27-2013 08:17 AM

We like Five Guys burgers. For not being angus beef, their burgers are pretty tasty. The peanuts are an interesting item to go along with the meal.

We've had their hot dogs before, too. They split them and then cook them on the grill. Tasty...........but kinda pricey for a hot dog! :D

Bill :)

Richard1366 08-27-2013 08:47 AM

Everyone misses the best thing on the menu, the hot dog. It is split and grilled, I get mine "Chicago" style (or close to it) tomatoes, onions, mustard, pickles and jalapeno peppers. When we went to the original one in VA we used to get the hamburgers, now we only get the hot dogs.

Mr Hanky 08-27-2013 05:59 PM

I like five guys . Very tastey burgers !

overpriced - yes, indeed!

it's good for them that there are folks around who appreciate such a burger.

Bill32 08-27-2013 09:09 PM

went there today, not at all impressed......

Snookie 08-28-2013 03:16 PM

Their fries are so greasy I hated them and I won't go back EVER

zonerboy 08-28-2013 04:17 PM

I've read a lot of threads here concerning various restaurants. In most cases there are a few who think the food is the best they've ever had, another few who think the place is terrible and they'll never go there again. And the majority are in the middle somewhere. Guess there will never be a restaurant that everyone thinks is great. And that's good! It always pleases me when I read negative reports about a place I happen to like. Because that means it will be less crowded when I want to go there.
I happen to like 5 Guys burgers. They always taste good to me. And yes, I'm aware I can get a cheaper burger at McDonalds or Burger King.

Five Guys and Hard Times Cafe were two of the diner type good food joints in Northern Virginia. I will miss TexMex spaghetti of Hard Times but glad to know Five Guys came to TV. Haven't tried it yet but hope their fries are as fresh as I remember it up north and burger juicy and med rare. If not, then it is not Five Guys

You should give it another try. Something was probably exceptionally wrong. We have never had anything but excellent hot dogs, burgers and fries at 5 guys. The only thing bad is the calories - but that's where the flavor is!!!!

Jwatk 08-29-2013 10:30 PM

They have a sign saying Sept 2nd.

Aloha 09-03-2013 10:36 AM
