vet to clean dogs teeth

Thanks Went to Belleview Veterinary Hospital............We currently go to Buffalo Ridge vet. Seem very nice but very expensive to have our 13 year old dogs teeth cleaned. They want over 375 dollars. The cost of bloodwork is expensive because of her age which added cost. Does anyone have a place they go to that might be a bit less cost? Thanks

Our groomer cleans their teeth when they get groomed. Grooming etc is around
$45.00.
Why put a 13 year old dog through all the pain?

I had my Shih Tzu/Bichons teeth cleaned at the Bellevue Veterinary hospital in July. After an estimate from a vet in the villages for $700 (including a tooth that HAD to be pulled) I researched other vets. Bellevue charged me $251 which included blood work and the tooth did not have to be removed. I paid extra for a different kind of anesthesia since she is 7 years old which was easier on her system. It was well worth the 25 minute trip and my little girl now has a new vet. Good luck!

Thank you i will give bellevue vet a call. She stopped chewing on her bones so might have a loose tooth also

My dog needs a tooth pulled and one of the village vets said it would be around $300. Can you share what you paid at Bellevue Vet once they give you an estimate?

socrafty 09-03-2013 02:26 PM

Ooops! Spelled Belleview wrong, sorry. Their phone number is (352) 347-3900.

In 2012, PAWS Animal Hospital charged $251.50 for a Stage III moderate cleaning. That price included a nail trim and antibiotic pills. The nail trim was $5.00 and the pills were $22.50 (so you could deduct those if you didn't need them.) All the veterinary offices I have contacted have different pricing based on the level of cleaning needed.

I can tell you that our golden retriever had to have a broken large molar removed at Park Heights Animal Hospital (the location on 441). The cost was $450. Would have been $35 more if we had them clean his teeth while he was under, but his teeth at age 5.5 are still pristine white. Hmm...
I like the vet (Dr. Manganaro), but I think they are pricey.

try Mulberry Animal Hospital. I like them there

After living in (3) states and also Orlando, FL I can tell you the BEST Vet in terms of compassion/pricing/knowledge and overall friendly staff is Park Heights Animal Hospital in Fruitland Park. Dr. Ross Valdez is superb and genuinely compassionate about pets!!

Going on Tuesday to Belleview Veterinary hospital to have our dogs teeth cleaned. They seemed very nice and the cost is $180 which includes any teeth that need to be
pulled and anesthesia for her size and age. Thanks everyone

Please let us know what you think of Belleview Vet Hospital. We also take our dogs to a groomer in Belleview. Prices seem to be less outside The Bubble. for us, we drive North on CR 301 to reach Belleview.

After having M. Busters teeth all removed at 14 years old, he went on to gain weight and energy. Now he is 17.5 years old.Attachment 20723

Try Banfield at PetSmart. They have a wellness plan that includes teeth cleaning. Very reasonable.

Barefoot 09-16-2013 12:19 PM

I heard that Buffalo Ridge offers a teeth cleaning that doesn't involve anesthetic (presumably a sedative of some sort tho). Has anyone out there tried it? I have no idea how much it costs, or whether it works on all dogs, or how effective it really is. I'd love to hear some first-hand experience.

Update on Cleaning at Belleview Vet

Yesterday our Yorkie went to Belleview animal hospital and had her teeth cleaned. She did great. They were really nice to her and I was very happy. She is 13 years old and weighs 4lbs. She had propofol iv and did good. The
cost was $185 and did not have to do blood work. She has been perfectly
healthy and did not need it. Thanks to everyone on Talk of the Villages, I
now have a new vet. Oh she had two molars removed. He said they were a bit loose already. So cost did include any extractions the dog might need.

Buffalo Ridge cost would have been $360 without any extractions. Also girl
said she was not exactly sure the cost of blood work because of her age. So that was an estimated guess included in cost.
