Pretty handy invention-Golf Cart Enclosure roll-up
|
Cool!
|
Very ingenious - somebody was thinking - bet it sells like hotcakes.
|
COME ON FOLKS ITS A 3/4 OR 1" PVC PIPE WITH A CUT PUT IN IT, GOT TO home-depot AND PICK UP A 10' LENGTH AND HAVE SOMEONE RIP IT ON A TABLE SAW AND MAKE ONE FOR YOUR NEIGHBORS L.O.L.
|
It's sooooo much easier if you fold the piece in half and then roll. It's twice as fast and alot less wrinkles.
|
Since you still have to fold it, not sure what great advantage this is. Really wouldn't want to waste the time sliding it in when I can just fold, roll and snap -- just seems like an added step.
|
I've never had any problems folding and rolling ours back up as instructed by the people who sold us ours. For some it might be an easier way to do it. I've only dropped ours down on a serious rain anyway.
|
It looks like it's a pretty simple idea. The main advantage I can see is it might help to keep you rolling straight. It is kinda hard to keep both ends even while you're rolling.
|
I like it a lot. Yes, it is simply a piece of PVC that has a channel cut into it, but if you want to make one, you have to go buy a length of pipe and have access to a table saw. For ten bucks, I'd buy one and avoid the running around.
The question I have is where do you store it in the cart when it's not in use? |

Or maybe I just don't understand the advantages. |

Why hasn't someone invented ....
a retractable screen door (replace screen with plastic) for carts that is already being used on front doors...
A good idea for "Shark Tank" |
Love it
I think I'm going to order one. I agree for 10 bucks why mess with cutting it your self....thanks for posting it:BigApplause:.

When you put the sides down during a rain storm you then have the long pipe that you would have to put in your cart somewhere. I would rather unroll and roll sides without an added gadget. With all the rain we have gotten caught in this summer, my husband and I can unroll and roll the sides in record time! Just my personal preference.

I'm definitely buying one. It would be nice if, as getdul981 says, it would fit in the little hole between the bag straps, (which is for bunker rakes, by the way), or if it's short enough it should fit behind the seat in the little slot between the seat and the body. |

FYI...This item was designed by Carroll, the door attendant with the big black cowboy hat @ Katie Belles. He was telling us about this invention a few months ago. Very nice guy, I hope this does well for him!
|
I used to do the same thing with a broom stick, but had no place to store it, so I now start rolling from the middle and it's twice as fast since you have half the distance to roll.
|
I have never had a problem rolling the side curtains up. Fold them in half and roll.
However, I wish this guy good luck on his endeavor. Z |
You can also use a length of black insulation foam and it is already slit.

On storing the tube, it looks like you could just leave it in the last one you roll up.
