Boston Market

Is there anyone out there besides me that likes Boston Market?
I have tried on my own to get them to come to the Villages, but have had little response. I've sent them a ton of info on the Villages. I wrote to the Villages Real Estate Development office, and they said that the voices of the Villagers would be needed to convince BM to come here. Please, if you like BM, tell them.Go On line and send them a comment to 'come to the Villages'. It seems only a 'ground swell' of support by Villagers can make this happen. If you live south of 466, and close to 466A like I do, you KNOW we need more restaurant choices. Brownwood it not the only answer. There is vacant land right on 466A in front of Publix for a Boston Market. Please please give them 'buzz' and let them know we could use them here.. Thanks for your help..
:ho:

No thanks to Boston Market.

Love Boston Market ! Guess that's two of us.

Bonnevie 10-02-2013 01:40 PM

I like it, too. Healthier than a fast food dinner.

redwitch 10-02-2013 02:44 PM

Another fan of BM and will definitely add my name to those requesting one here.

I like the Boston Market menu but only ate there occasionally at home because it wasn't conveniently located to my house. Their business must not have been very good because it closed and a McDonalds went in.

BarryRX 10-02-2013 04:51 PM

Boston Market creamed spinach.....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Markam 10-02-2013 07:06 PM

I wish there was one here also. I'm sure they would do well.

The nearest one is in Ocala and we bring some of their meals back when visiting.

There is absolutely nothing healthy about Boston Market food. All of the vegetables are drowning in butter, or more likely some fake substitute containing trans fats. The chicken is ok if you don't eat the dark meat or the skin. The corn bread is loaded with fat and processed refined carbs.

Most people see chicken and automatically think it's healthy. The only healthy chicken is baked or grilled chicken breast. Everything else has as much fat as any other meat and the skin has more fat that most cuts of meat.

People also assume that fish is healthy so they go to MacDonalds and get a pice of crappy fish covered in a think layer of batter containing unhealthy refined carbs and then soaked trans fat oils for five minutes. Then it's covered with a mayonnaise type dressing like tatar sauce.

There is so much crap being passed off as heath foods or healthier alternatives that is no better than a Big Mac and fries.

chuckinca 10-02-2013 10:35 PM

Mickey D's has probably sold over a billion Big Mac and Fries; can't be all bad (I have had about 1 or 3 of those 1,000,000,000).

We used to go the Boston Market in Palm Harbor every other week. Would like to get a Boston Market in the Villages but it would have to be near Southern Trace for us to use it rather than Crispers, Subway, NYPD Pizza, and the other close by places we frequent.

The Boston Market in Palm Harbor was about 3 miles from our house so not much of a drive and I could take the back roads to avoid the often murderous Highway 19.

Palm Harbor is between Tarpon Springs and Clearwater near Dunedin, Oldsmar and Safety Harbor.

The Tampa Bay area has 13 Boston Market restaurants.

Brooksvile, Florida now has a lot of restaurants including McDonalds.

When we drove it, back in the '80s it was fairly empty up to Brooksville.
But, we had left early in the morning.

I think there's also a newish (to us anyway) major highway connecting Brooksville and that Spring Hill massive development to the Tampa ST. Pete area........but at the time, we liked to take the slower roads to see more things. At that time, Tarpon Springs was very pretty.....very different. I'm sure that Brooksville has "grown up" since the '80s.

If I were there now, I'd definitely go to the Greek restaurants.

Again, thanks for letting me know.

US 19 in the Tarpon Springs area through St Pete. area used to be one of the Top Ten deadliest roads in the US with a death about every other week and many accidents as well. It is like putting a major freeway through a series of strip malls. http://tbo.com/pinellas-county/us--i...putation-22650

They changed their name at one point. I'm having trouble remembering what it was, but it was something similar to Boston Market. B........ Market.

The food is very tasty. AllI'm saying is don't make the mistake of thinking that it is some kind of healthy meal.

Ditto on having Boston Market here in the Villages. Have also sent them emails and have had no replays. Wrote to Omaha Steaks also asking them to consider opening an outlet store here.

Used to be Boston Chicken until the mid 90's.

Boston Market is one of those places where the food tastes good, but a few hours later I feel like something died in my mouth. I think they would be very successful here.

I love Boston Market.

I am pretty sure that Stouffers frozen creamed spinach is close.

marianne237 10-12-2013 08:43 AM

Just wrote to Boston Market again asking them to consider opening in the area. And wrote to Omaha Steaks again asking them the same. On their website is a spot that you can search for their retail stores. The closest is 52 miles away; there are several here in FL, why not one near us? Now if we could only get a Bakers Square restaurant.

FYI: Boston Market was owned by McDonald's from 2000 to 2007. Many poor stores were converted to "the arches" during that timeframe.

They bought the chain looking for well placed real estate sites. Converted the poorly performing ones to Mickey D's, ran the rest without too much fanfare and then sold the chain to private equity about 6 years ago. The new owners are just keeping the status quo. They haven't had a new location in all that time.

Thank you Skip. I don't know HOW you know a bunch of really interesting stuff but you do.

They are NOT opening new ones at this time. So place our hopes elsewhere.

Got it.
