He's the cutest little guy, that Biggins.

For Biggins, this was equivalent to seeing one of the Seven Wonders of the World. He has never seen a bird inside a house before. And the bird was pretty cool about being under such intense scrutiny!

that was the cutest thing! Biggins exhibiting all respect..coupled with curiousity that had to be satisfied. Well-played, little guy. very impressive coupling of restraint and worldliness. A balanced 6-year old pup. Emma wantses to meet him.

So cute!

So where was Lollipop when this activity was going on???

CFrance 11-20-2013 08:14 PM

Lollipop, sadly, did not attend, but that was understandable. Bare just had a knee replacement and felt she could handle Biggins alone more easily than Bigs & Loli.

I feel in my heart that Crosby and I bonded. I think at this moment Crosby is missing me. I know I am missing him. Biggins is one beautiful and well behaved little curly person.

Oh, Geez, he was so depressed at your departure I told him he could come stay with you for two weeks over Thanksgiving.:a040::coolsmiley:

That is fine with me. I think the Kitties would like him too. He is the most laid back dawg I have ever met.

Lollipop was very depressed when she saw Biggins getting his scarf on and knew he was going out for lunch. However at 70 lbs, Lollipop can be a tad over enthusiastic when meeting new people. Crosby is quite large, and I thought Kitty was bringing Emma. I had visions of 250 lbs of dog swirling around CFrance's lovely home. As it turned out, Emma didn't attend, and Crosby was extremely well behaved and docile.

May I just add that CFrance is the BEST cook ever! :ho:

Sport and the six or so cockatiels.

I always have to remind myself that Biggins is the small dog, whereas Lollipop is your bigger one.

I pet watched over a number of cockatiels here in the Villages a number of years ago. This was often on the way to the dog park as the woman was someone who lives within eyesight of Doggie Doo Run Run. My dog Sport was WAY too interested in the cockatiels so after the first time he was at the house, every other visit I had to chain him outside. The birds were used to shelties but not terrier/Chihuahua mixes even if they are extremely calm in manner. Welcome to Cockatiel.com - Your Complete Cockatiel Source

Sport would never have been able to control himself if he got as close to the catch as Biggins is.

OMGoodess, he is adorable. Can he have his own birdie to keep? Pleaeeeze?

CFrance 11-21-2013 07:40 PM

I was going to have Isa the cockatiel covered when I thought many dogs were coming, but it was unnecessary. And little Biggins (that name cracks me up) was so calm around Isa. Isa has lived with two goldens and the occasional visiting collie, and he is not afraid of dogs.

Crosby is still harassing me to take him to DDRR again so he can meet Lollipop and anyone else's TOTV dog who goes there.

graciegirl 11-21-2013 08:12 PM

Lollypop looks a little like this, but cuter and more......glamorous.

Pam had a cockatiel when we first got married. My cat sat next to the cage licking his lips. A couple hours later the bird was laying on the bottom of the cage. Think the cat gave it a heart attack.

In 1973 we found out just how high one of our cats could jump. Cage hanging from ceiling apparently wasn't quite high enough. No more canary.

My husband claimed he could still hear him singing every time he ran the vacuum sweeper. I said Quit running the vacuum sweeper, and the rest is history.

We should plan a TOTV Dog Day some afternoon when it isn't too busy at DDRR, so we can all meet up, and our furry friends can play together. :pepper2:

You notice I didn't bring the crazy Schnauzers. No one would have been safe, including Isa. Maggie Mae would have been hanging from the side of the cage with Sam sitting on the side of the cage groaning and moaning wanting to play. He's such a cranky old dawg. BTW, they both noticed when I came home smelling of all those other animals. Sniffing and crying cause they weren't invited.

Wonderful afternoon, loved it, lets do it again.

Yes, let's. I can always stash the boid in the bedroom so the Schnauzers don't have to feel left out!
