Favorite singer among these?

Who among these singers are your favorites? I limited it to 4 votes per person and you can change your vote. I know there are a lot more names that could be on here.

Not sure what is going on with allowing people to change their 4 votes? :dontknow:

Thanks for the response, Chuckinca? Who was/is Snooky Lanson? I had Nat King Cole and many others on the initial list but thought it would get way too long if I added a lot of other names.

Snooky Lanson was one of the 4 regulars on "Your Hit Parade" on tv for several years.

Thanks. Rdkent. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Your_Hit_Parade I was born in 1959 so that is somewhat before my time.

Amen to that, Minnie. How about some Motown also?

So would I except I was trying to get and present an idea of what Villagers would like to hear on for example the Villages' radio stations. I do not expect they will be playing a lot of Bruce Springsteen on the Villages radio station heard around the town squares until maybe 2045?

John Fogerty might be heard on the squares regualrly before that along with Bob Seger.

Certainly would like to hear more Motown tunes around the squares too. How about some Sam Cooke tunes too? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Cooke

How well does Sam Cooke or John Forgerty or Bruce Spingsteen go with Paul Harvey?

Re: Favorite singer among these?

I didn't know Paul Harvey was a singer.

My wife went to school with John Fogerty but she doesn't remember him cause it was preschool (her mother told her about it when he became famous).

Wow, 1959, lucky you to have found TV at such a young age!

I suggest you drop the names with "0" votes and add a few new names (Roy Orbison, Neill Diamond, Dr. Hook, the Hollies, Meatloaf) come to mind.

Re: Favorite singer among these?

Why aren't the Beatles on that list?

Roy Orbison

Beatles

Re: Favorite singer among these?

MinnieM, of course, an obvious choice .... the Beatles!
Think you should do a revamp of that list of yours Taltarzac .. Delete a few obvious ones like Russell Ames, Doris Day, Giselle MacKenzie, and please add the Beatles, such great music.

JohnZ. Give it about 20 years for WVLG and most of these lists. :joke:

I have never heard any of the classical musicians on that station WVLG though like Mozart, Beethoven, Ravel, Vivaldi, Pachelbel. Probably would not hear them in 20 years either.

I'm still in shock that Meatloaf got 4 votes. If my day is really bad, it is time to take the Miata, put on Paradise and drive!!!

Sure would be nice to hear more blues on WVLG.

JohnZ ... LOVE your list. I used to see John Mayall twice a year when he played at Slim's in San Francisco. Not too sure I would call Stevie Ray Vaughan a good vocalist but his guitar licks put him high on any list in my mind.

Second that, Redwitch. JohnZ's list is the kind of music I would listen to if given a choice. I would throw in some current music too but not all that much.
