More than one wife

Humm.
Not my cup of tea, but the judge got it right in this article.

Federal judge strikes down key parts of Utah's polygamy law in 'Sister Wives' ruling - U.S. News

I believe in less government involvement in the details of our personal lives.

Not allowing more than one license is a good call.

Have a blessed day one and all.

donb9006 12-15-2013 06:30 AM

Why do you need a license, permission, to get married? If you believe in "less government involvement in the details of our personal lives" then you SHOULD agree that if polygamy is part of the religion, then polygamy should be allowed. What do YOU care how many wives someone has? Jealousy is all that comes to mind to me. Not REQUIRING a license would be a better call.

Morning. I agree with you. I just never thought about it before, but after reading the story I am OK with any ones decision in this private matter. We humans often stick our nose to deep into others personal lives. Live and let live and stop being the judge and jury.

This should be the go-no-go gauge for all posts in public forums....very good!!!

GOOD GRIEF.

I think that some of us are looking for a fight.

This is something that occurs SO rarely, and yes we all will have opinions on it, but why start something that will escalate within TWO more posts into an argument about religion and government that will NEVER affect most of us?

Good morning. I feel bitchy and twitchy this morning too. That danged Gary Morse allowed it to be cold and rainy on my golf game this morning.

Have some coffee and some eggs, and sit by the tree and have good thoughts....or just have coffee and wish you had multiple wives or husbands, whatever floats your boat.

Did I read the word Jealous, about multiple wives? Sheesh. If Sweetie had two, he would lose his mind.

mrdarcy 12-15-2013 07:50 AM

OP. Provocateur.

redwitch 12-15-2013 07:52 AM

Ain't none of my bizness how dey live. Ain't none of the govmint's bizness how dey live. Good ruling (for a change).

For some, "one wife is more than enough", and for some, "one wife is, one too many". :jester:

Cody Brown is not a polyganmists, in that he has one legal wife but co-habitates with an additional three woman. To each his/her own, as it is a free country.

Personally, the affections of one person, should be sufficient. IMHO

Lou, you are a nice person, but I have to ask, don't you think your pushing the limits, with these type of posts? They can get political very fast, and lead to a banning, on TOTV.

Just asking..........

Golfingnut 12-15-2013 07:57 AM

Gracie. You know I think the world of you, but I don't think you should use the word fight in this instance. There are a lot of reasons to fight about, but for me this is not one of them.

I can't imagine how you see this as a political post. As god is my witness.

What did she say about judging your fellow man.

KARENNN 12-15-2013 08:22 AM

What needs to stop is forcing of young girls into this lifestyle against their will. Protecting children...that is our business.

Absolutely agree, but if the players of legal age, it is none of our business.

Oh, I know I should not touch this one with a 10ft pole, but if my other half decided to bring another woman into my home, he's be one sorry mess and I would probably be in jail.

I am not sure what she would say, but I would say I am somewhat an expert on boys trying to start something, after several decades teaching kids.;)

LOL. :BigApplause: same in my house. I shudder to think what my wife would say if I asked. Ooooooow. I think it is silly, foolish, perverted, selfish and 500 other descriptions, but, should the government make it illegal for consenting adults? We are losing so many rights every year, so let's be very careful wha we vote to be against the law.

I respect your teaching back ground, but you guessed wrong this time. I read several papers every morning and the OP article caught my eye. That's all. I could see religious folks being upset with the ruling, but political, no connection in my mind. Also, please take this with no offense, Admin is better equipped to take care of improper posts and they do just that every day. Sarcastic comments from one member directed at another can cause the very trouble we all wish to avoid.

Love
Lou

Stay on point, direct comments to the topic and not other members, stay out of political and governmental inferences, and the thread will be left to continue.

I think most women find polygamy incomprehensible, but who are we to judge others?

Everyone marches to a different drummer and we each have our own path to navigate. Live and let live!

I feel so fortunate to have found the love of my wife 44 years ago and it remains the number one thing i am thankful for every day. That said, if you need more than one and several women wish to share their life with you, I will never interfere.
