Villages: friendliest home town
I was minding my own business when a man asked me if I would like a ticket to tonight's show at Savannah center. It caught me by surprise; I didn't know what to make of it. I acceped the ticket, of course, and saw a really great show.
The show: The Christmas Ball Feat. David Ball And The Pioner Playboys It was a fantastic show! I was facinated by the talent of the lead guitar player. I just wish I could play like that. I better start practicing. :icon_wink: Thanks again to whomever that was. I guess it pays to be in the right place at the right time. |
Thanks again to whoever that was. I guess it pays to be in the right place at the right time.
You're right...get this one... Wife and I just move into our new home in the Villages and we go and load up the car with about $150 worth of groceries and the car breaks down on the way back to the house! Second car to pull up behind us...I swear...second car!...pops the drunk takes my wife and the groceries to our home while I stay with the car and wait for AAA. We still do not know who these people are! Some place The Villages...we how drive around ready to assist someone in need at all times! |
I am convinced this place is lower Paradise.
|
The people are what really make this place. We've met some wonderful folks in our years here. What also amazes me is how all the activities that we enjoy as far as the clubs, are all in place because of volunteers. The volunteers are a huge part of our active lifestyle. Kudos to them!

villages
It's a unique place, and thankful it is here.
|
It's the demographics that makes it so nice...
|
I heard there is a big cover up going on about a crack in the bubble and the Daily Sun is behind it.
|
We don't socialize much with our neighbors BUT that said, they're right there in the events where we've needed them. Even a hug and how can we help with something personal happened!! I think we live in the best place in the world!! Thanks VillagesPL for posting this!

Gracie, put on your teacher's hat and tell me if this is correct: In my opening post I said, "Thanks again to whoever that was." I have a feeling I got it wrong so I went back and changed it to, "whomever". Do I have it right now?....:024: |

What would we do without the people who make us laugh? :1rotfl: |
If this was not the best place in the world to retire, I would not have retired here.

Whoever vs. Whomever Rule 1 To determine whether to use whoever or whomever, here is the rule: him + he = whoever him + him = whomever Examples: Give it to whoever/whomever asks for it first. Give it to him. He asks for it first. Therefore, Give it to whoever asks for it first. We will hire whoever/whomever you recommend. We will hire him. You recommend him. him + him = whomever We will hire whoever/whomever is most qualified. We will hire him. He is most qualified. him + he = whoever Confusing as **** to me. |

No, wait. It's thanks again to him, whoever he was. So it's "him" plus "he". That means it must be "whoever". Whatever! |
I get very guarded when someone has a kumbayah moment. Perhaps I am too grounded for my own good????

The Villages IS the place to be!!! My outside pole light was staying on and apparently for awhile. Our neighbor greeted us and told us about how long it had been on. He sent me up to ACE on 466 to buy some kit, I came back with the kit and he installed it. I felt like a fool doing nothing but handing him a couple of tools. Saved us a few bucks. Point being is we'll all in the same boat and I look forward to returning the favor some day.
