Dr. Boris Todorovic, R.I.P.
I am devastated and saddened beyond belief. It's New Year's Day and I just read that Dr. Boris Todorovic of Laurel Manor was killed last evening at 6:30pm.
My Ellen and I were just with him for a good hour on Monday afternoon. As always, he spent a great deal of time with us, caring, questioning, testing and of course, joking and making us laugh and be at ease. He shook hands with us and we exchanged New Years' wishes, and one short day later, Dr. Boris was gone from this world. He saved my life twice last year by assessing my general health and at once getting me to a cardiologist (triple by-pass) and to a dermatologist (melanoma.) I came to trust him completely, and looked forward to visits at his office. I knew he'd take care of me. Once, while recuperating from post operative complications at Leesburg, on one of his many regular rounds there, he announced to us that "This is a social visit! " He then explained with the usual twinkle in his eye that when a doctor says that it means he is current with his mortgage. The people of this area have lost a very good and blessed physician and friend. May God rest his soul and may God's grace come to strengthen his wife and young daughter. |
I am so saddened. I can't believe Dr. Boris is gone. He was my doctor. You could not ask for a more caring and compassionate person. We will all miss out with his loss. It is so senseless, he had so much to offer the world. His knowledge of medicine and the way he practiced his profession was just outstanding. He had so many more great years to give. I always loved his wit, he had a great sense of humor and always put you at ease. What doctor gives you his cell phone number? Dr Boris did. I will miss you. I will pray for you and your young family. God rest your soul.

What a great tribute to this fine man. I am very sorry to hear this bad news. |
So sad, I just read it on Facebook and although I didn't know of this doctor, I thought how horrible, so young and probably with a family, and at this time of the year. He sounds like he was a great man and a wonderful doctor.
RIP, Dr. T.. |

I found this on the internet.
Local physician killed in traffic accident on U.S. Hwy 27/441 December 31, 2013 A physician who had staff privileges at Leesburg Regional Medical Center was killed in a traffic accident Monday evening on U.S. Hwy 27/441 in Leesburg. Dr. Boris Todorovic, 41, of Mount Dora, was driving a Hummer which collided with a semi tractor trailer truck driven by David Roebuck, 53, of Wisconsin. The accident occurred at roughly 6:30 p.m. when Roebuck’s truck was pulling out of the Family Furniture Galleries parking lot. Todorovic’s primary practice was at Lakeview Internal Medicine which has offices in The Villages, Summerfield, Leesburg and Mount Dora. The Villages’ office is located at Laurel Manor Professional Plaza. Todorovic studied at the University of Zagreb in Croatia. In 2010, he was named Physician of the Year at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness. |
The newspaper reports (Orlando Sentinel in particular) state that the tractor trailer had to actually move into oncoming traffic to accomplish its full exit. Apparently, Dr. Boris was in the left lane and there was a head on collision.

RIP Dr. Boris |
Had the privilege of knowing Boris for a few years. A finer doctor you will not meet. Had some of the best jokes I've ever heard - even a few off color ones - but that was Boris. Deeply missed by all that knew him.
RIP Boris. |
What awful news. I'm the patient of another dr. in the same practice and saw Dr. Boris once during hospital rounds when he was on call. I was being discharged and the visit couldn't have taken more than 5 minutes, but his forceful and caring presence made a vivid impression on me.

At our age, don't you just have to wonder why such a fine person was called and ugly nasty people who hurt and rob and kill are left with us?
He became a doctor in 2003, he was 41. He spent most of his life educating himself. Sometimes things are so hard to understand. |
OMG - such sad news. I had an appointment with him for my mother this morning

Just saying that fate or God or whatever acts in very strange ways. Randy was still hitting on married women after almost dying because of this habit of his. He often also had a lot of women drawn to him. I do feel for the patients though of this good doctor as well as for his family. Thought maybe if the good doctor is looking down on us he might get a kick out of this story about my friend from Reno who never knew how to control his impulses. |
In 2004 I was in Leesburg Hospital and ready to get out and go home. Dr. Boris was there at about midnight and after talking with him for a half-hour he agreed with my desire to get out and go home. It was his medical opinion and not him just being nice. He did a little testing and I checked out.
What a nice man! He was also very knowledgeable about medical problems and didn't make any poor decisions to me about my health. What a shame! |
I worked with Dr. Boris at TVRH. Not only was he an extraordinary MD who truly cared about his patients, but he was wonderful with the nurses who all loved him (except his handwriting!) and he had an exceptional sense of humor! Dr. Boris loved to tell a joke and, quite honestly, at times I didn't understand them because of his heavy Russian accent, but laughed because of the manner in which he told it. He was a brilliant Dr. and his passing is a tremendous loss to our community. I just learned from another dr. that his service will be on Saturday and more info can be obtained at the website of Allen J. Harden Funeral Home in Mt. Dora. Rest in peace, my friend, Dr. Boris.

Dr. Boris
Brilliant, Kind, Caring, Intense, Funny. You could go on for a long time to describe this very wonderful eclectic Doctor. He was an Incredible Physician who cared about his patients and went above and beyond to care for them. I will miss him greatly. Especially his jokes. My heart goes out to his family. I think it will take a very long time for any of us who knew him to recover from this.
