Cough and sore throat

My wife has a nagging cough and sore throat. Are others experiencing these symptoms? Is this something that is going around?

Could be allergies....mine have been rampant this year. Since it's so dry the pollen floats.

Could not hurt to test for covid. Still going around

There are several Urgent Care facilities in the area, I would go to one of these if you do not have or cannot get to your Primary care doctor.

Could also be COVID. You might want to take the test to confirm. COVID has so many symptoms that are so very similar to other common ailments that it is very easy to dismiss it as something else. Only way to know for sure is take the test. I was sure I had a cold or allergies and I was shocked when the test came up as Positive.

Agree with Village Tinker, go to an urgent care and talk to a real doctor, no one here will have the right answer for you.

I don't know what it is, but have never had any allergies that I know of, and yet, for several weeks have strange symptoms, not a "stuffed up" nose, but just a kind of very mild burning sensation in nose and back of throat, a slight reduction in taste sensitivity, occasional "throat based" cough, not from chest/lungs, just a really odd "this is not normal" kind of nose throat condition. Have not gone to doctor as seems not to get worse, and some days much less... makes me think perhaps I have some allergy I have never known of ? Been in Florida most of life, so can't be change of environment ! Maybe some kind of mosquito spray ? Who knows. Never had reaction to golf course chemicals in my life, so just can't figure this out !

If not testing, its guessing

My wife and son (not in Fla) have both had lingering symptoms like that for the last 3 weeks. They think it's allergies.
It's pretty light but determined. We have both have Covid, it's not Covid. But if you're concerned, see the doc.

Allergies, Covid, throat cancer, strep throat, methane from the marsh, Not anything to play with ! AdventHealth Emergency where you will have a fighting chance

After 3 years Covid finally found my wife and I.
The dry cough was the first alert followed by sore throats and generally feeling grotty.
My poor wife is still coughing 7 weeks later, although a lot less as time passes.
Get a test, at least that will confirm, or not one possibility for your symptoms.
