going to Ft. Lauderdale cruise port in May when Yankee Trails doesn't run

It's going to be a one way cruise so any ideas how to get down there? Any recommendations? Ordinarily I'd take the car and park it there, but in this case, it won't help. TIA for any suggestions you may have.

Go to Enterprise rental! We are doing this for a April cruise. The return lot is only 2 miles from the cruise port.

Look into Brightline from OIA. The train station in Ft. Lauderdale is about. 5 miles past the airport. However, they do run free shuttles to the airport. Then take on of the shuttles to the port.

The Brightline Fort Lauderdale Station is about 3 miles from Port Everglades.

Look at Park and Go. Be sure to look at the cruise lot and not the airport. They drive you to the port and pick up. Lot is next to port. You take your luggage with you on their bus so no need to drop off first at port. I think I would be at the lot at least an hour before you want to board the ship. They will go to a few ships on each trip. I think the rate is cheaper if you sign up on line and you will also have a reserved spot. They park your car so you have to leave the keys.

We are doing the reverse and, having missed out on reasonably-priced FLL-MCO fares, looked into taking Brightline. It looked like fun - but be aware of the luggage policies - then Spirit dropped its prices so we are now flying.

Of course, if you drove down and left your car keys under the mat we could drive it back for you :-)

Op said it’s a one way cruise, so park and go won’t work

You can also try cruise connection. I have rented from Enterprise when I only needed 1 way transport.

Rent a car close to TV and drop it off at the rental companies Fort Lauderdale location. Most Fort Lauderdale rental car companies have a complimentary shuttle to the cruise port.

Noted you referred this airport as OIA which would be great. Real call letters are MCO. Wish they would change. Makes too much sense.

We have the same situation in April. I found Budget rental car company that has a one way rate of about $90-100. And the drop off is near the cruise port and airport with a shuttle to either. Budget rental car pickup is in leesburg. Then guy back to Orlando and take a shuttle back to TV.

Several have already mentioned it, but we have always had a one way car rental to Ft Lauderdale. Most rental companies have an office near and a shuttle to the cruise port. We have used both Hertz and Budget.

We rented a car and dropped it off at the nearest cruise terminal location, then Ubered to the terminal itself. Flew back to Orlando and took the Village Van service to our front door. Easy peasy!

Brightline is fairly expensive
