Why would you be shocked? He could have been anywhere. Did he do anything wrong in Marion County? I don't think so.

Have you ever been to Citra. The town is lost.

Well, he had to live somewhere and I guess Central Florida is as good as the next place.

American Greed did a show about him.

I'm reluctant to say so but but this guy was smart enough to get lost but not smart enough to not have committed the crime in the first place.

The mystery to me about criminals is that in most situations they are working harder and for less than just getting on with making a living

it all has to come down to the following rebuking authority seeking excitement, being unconventional, wired wrong, feeling entitled

Thanks for this information.....
I had not read this or watched American Greed.....
Just seeing it on CNN was disturbing .....he went from a very attractive man to something that I can only describe as "criminal looking"!

(if I had a lot of extra money...well...I think I would have trusted him to invest for me...):shocked:

Pay attention to the national news. Every loser in the US winds up in Florida.

Pretty close to the truth.

When I first heard of this man, I didn't believe he committed suicide as he said he would by jumping off a boat. He announced to his friends and was very vocal about it. Unlike some people who talk about it and are very serious, he seemed to me like a con man thru and thru.

I really don't have ant sympathy for him and the Bernie Madoff's of the world, as they do a lot of damage to honest, and too trusting people.
