Talk of The Villages Florida - Evergreen Buffet at Pinellas Plaza

Anxious to try the new Evergreen as we enjoy the food at the related Colony China Gourmet. Had lunch buffet around 1:30 on Wednesday. Very crowded. High turnover of guests. Popular food items refreshed quickly, slower moving items, not so. Best dish for me was fresh string beans. Nice selection including sushi, stir fry, appetizers, soups, standard entrees and desserts. Very attentive and friendly staff. Food was a big disappointment, bland, not as seasoned as same dishes at Colony. Hard to distinguish different spices, after awhile, it all tasted the same. Seems over MSG'd. Felt bloated all day and hung over next day. I like buffet to try different dishes, tastes. Not a good experience here. I prefer Colony fresh cooked Chinese fare. Also, non buffet menu prices higher at Evergreen.
