Golf tee times
 

This may not be the place to post this but I am sure if it isn't, the systems administrator will move it for me. But, in the last few days I've noticed where there are no cancellation points charged you due to the cold but what about when there is 100% rain and you cancel your tee time the day you are scheduled to play golf. I cancelled last Saturday when we were supposed to play because it was actually raining out. I called the starter shack to cancel our tee time. Do I get charged those cancellation points whereas people don't get charged because of the cold --- both are weather related. We are scheduled to play golf (executive course) on this Saturday and they are calling for 80% chance of thunderstorms on Saturday. Just wondering..........

I believe that if you cancel more than 24 hours prior to your tee time, you are only assessed 1 point. If you cancel less than 24 hours prior to your tee time, you get assessed 3 points. As to the different weather conditions, I believe that they do not assess you points if there are conditions that are dangerous to the players or dangerous to the golf course (per their standards, not yours). Golf is often played in conditions that are physically "uncomfortable" but not dangerous to people or golf courses. If you cancel because you don't want to get a little wet or a little cold, then I think you have to take your points and move on.

Normally, the starter will report to the golf pro they work for, and report when the rain starts and stops at a particular course, at which time the pro will report to the t-time system, and there will be no cancellation points for that period.

You lose 3 points ifdon'tshow up 2 points if you cancel within 24 hrs.:laugh:

Did you get charged cancellation points? It was not clear reading your post if you did. You can check your play history to find out. I have cancelled when it was raining and had zero cancellation points.

As far as cancellation points in general:

• ONE cancellation point is charged if you cancel prior to the day of play
• TWO cancellation points are charged if you cancel OR do not show on the day of play ***.

*** - it is better to cancel in case someone wishes to use your time.

These cancellation points above are in addition to your ONE reservation point.

The day of the cold, the tee time office called the shots. They closed ALL golf courses till 11:30, so nobody was charged points during that time. When it rains, you still have the opportunity to play. I agree, if it's raining, that you shouldn't get charged points, but I guess there are some who don't mind playing in rain. The big thing that bothers me, is that I feel sorry for some handicapped people, who can't golf, when they have cart path only. They surly shouldn't have to be charged points. I don't remember ever having a problem because of points though! Maybe because I'm a priority member.

I got charged no points, and a rain check this AM.

If it's raining you only lose the reservations 1 point. If you(the player consider it to cold that is also the case(you do have to be reasonable and use common sense though...and quite a few people do not).

It has nothing to do with dangerous conditions to the players. If there is lightening a golfer is not required to leave the course...the same for cold unless there is a freezing danger to the course...the same for wind. If it's in the 40's and windy you will only lose your reservation point.
