Is there a limit to how often your grandchildren can visit or stay?
We are looking at the Villages to buy. I don't know if it is a rumor or true.
Are you limited in how often your children and grandchildren can visit? Are you limited how long they can stay? |
Re: Is there a limit to how often your grandchildren can visit or stay?
From the covenants and restrictions: The subdivision is an adult community designed to provide housing for persons 55 years of age or older. All homes that are occupied must be occupied by at least one person who is at least 55 years of age. No person under 19 may be a permanent resident of a home, except that persons below the age of nineteen may be permitted to visit and temproarily reside for periods not exceeding 30 days in total in any calendar year period.
When we asked this question we were told the above. the agent also added that there were no grandchildren police looking for violations. I would assume that to mean that as long as the kids were behaving and not drawing undue attention, and there were no complaints they could stay somewhat longer. Living with you NO. |

.....or until one of your neighbors turn you in if over 30 days. That's just the way it is.
Sadly know of a couple who lost their daughter and her husband and were given custody of their grandchild. They had to move out of the Villages because the children were under 19. Some neighbors are the type who "see" everything and call neighborhood watch who in turn will report to the developer, etc. In any event, visits are fine but long term living is just not allowed. |
