MAKING FLORIDA HOME BASE???
 

What are the advantages of making Florida your home base? What about homestead?
This is for the snow bird with a home up north yet.

Homestead is a plus. Also, we came from Virginia the state that invented taxes!!!

We both have pensions which were taxed by Virginia. Not so here in Florida. This alone saved us several thousand a year.

Florida's lack of state taxes is the big advantage, the homestead exemption isn't that significant but it's also a factor.

I'd rather live in florida and travel to see the kids LOLOL

i was a snowbird for 7 years and in my case health insurance as well as homestead exemption and income tax played financial roles in my deciding to become a fulltime florida resident which i did a few years before actually selling my northern home.
