Hello Everyone -

It is hard to believe that another year has passed and we hope everyone has gotten use to writing 2014! TOTV had another record year of growth during 2013 breaking 39,000 registered user accounts and 650,000 posts! These statistics are always visible at the bottom of the homepage for transparency but some interesting statistics you may not know is that in the calendar year of 2013 according to Google Analytics TOTV had 2,441,926 (+36.08%) visitors to the site and 25,782,613 (+36.14%) page views!

With this much growth and varied personalities it certainly keeps the TOTV team busy and we wanted to remind everyone of the site rules and guidelines. These have been updated for 2014 and we encourage everyone to review. Your use of this site constitutes your agreement and acceptance of these guidelines. Here is a quick link directly to them:

We are often asked what might cause my post to get deleted? Here are some of the common guidelines that attribute to a thread/post deletion:

1) Never direct a comment at or reference to a user. Comment on topic.
2) A political reference.
3) Commercial/self promotion from a non supporting member.
4) Listing items or real estate in classifieds outside of The Villages.
5) Public disagreement with TOTV. Please PM or email us with questions.

These are the most common reasons we encounter. With millions of visitors each year and hundreds of post a day there will be obvious differences in personality. Please remember we don't moderate one's opinion or how sensitive someone's post is. Any time a post is reported a team of people review the post vs. the site guidelines to see if one of the rule have clearly been broken. Actions are taken privately not publicly so because we don't report back to you as the user reporting the post don't take matters into your own hands or assume it is not being addressed.

If you have a user that you find 'rubs you the wrong way' we encourage you to simply click on your UserCp and put them on your ignore list so you don't have to view their comments or style of writing.
