How Do I Clean Mold Off Of Landscape Curbing
How do I clean mold off of our landscape curbing? I asked the guy who washes houses and he tried it, but ended up giving our money back. I don't know if it wasn't working or if it was doing damage to the concrete or what. But I was wondering if anyone else has cleaned mold off of theirs. I would like to give the whole thing a good cleaning, yet not kill my plants.

We just use our power washer on it.

Power washing will do the trick. I've often wondered if after power washing if one could give the blocks a coat of some kind of sealer to prevent the mold from coming back. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

My husband uses Wesley's Bleach White which he buys at the auto store. Spray it on the mold and let it sit for 20 minutes or so and scrub it with a wired bristled broom. Hose it down and mold is gone.

Our landscaper told me that sealing the stone walls would not work. Just use a pressure washer and blast it off a couple of times a year.

Our neighbor's was sealed, and it looks fine.

I had my blocks installed in Feb 2011 and I sealed them with a heavy coat of sealant recommended for stone and brick pavers. It worked for about 18 mos and then i saw the black mold starting so I pressure washed the wall and resealed. 12 mos later the mold reappeared so I don't think sealing works that well so I just pressure wash annually.

power wash and spray household bleach to stop it from coming back.
