Larry and Ronnye and Kitty are going to go zydeco dancing. Ya'll come learn to dance like a Cajun. It's about the easiest dance ever.

The Cajun & Zydeco Workshop & Dance meets 7-9 pm the 1st three Wednesdays of each month in the Studebaker Room at Truman Rec Center. The first two weeks are lessons and the third week is a Fais Do-Do Social with tables, music to practice by, and your snacks and drinks to share. Think Mardi Gras and learn lively partner dances from Lousiana's Cajun country such as Cajun waltz, Cajun two-step, Cajun jitterbug, and Zydeco. Wear closed-toe shoes with smooth soles, and loose comfortable clothing. A partner is not required, but helpful.Ffor information, call Heather at 750-4503.

I see a number of steps here. Meaning the first part looks like a foxtrot beat, quick-quick-slow, with merengue in place movement.

Second part is definitely a swing, as is the music throughout.

I would have difficulty not breaking into a club swing from the beginning. And there would be some dramatic twirls happening here. Ladies, hang on to your hats.

Now, if anyone can show me west coast swing with the "sugar push" you'll have a friend for life.

Triple swing anyone?

Ops

Forgot to say it looks like fun.

As soon as I saw the video my feet started dancing and my mind went straight to the beat.

Got to stop and smell the roses, and then get carried away.

Now there you go, just channeling the music. way better than analyzing what you already know and how it relates. this is the easiest dance. take like 10 minutes to learn. great exercise and an awesome road trip to Lafayette coming up for the Village zydeco club.
