GEM Golf Carts
Do they make good good golf carts? Don't see many around and some say they are not practical on the course. They have a nice style -any opinions or suggestions?

I remember last year playing golf at Mallory and up ahead the group in front of us were all huddled around their golf cart. We walked up to find that the 4 seat GEM car with golf bags on the back was stuck between two mogul type hills. The front and back wheels were both off the ground. We all got behind and pushed the car off and away they went. So be careful when you navigate on a golf course.

they are not one of the big 4 and I think they are made in Korea but not sure.

The GEM car brand is owned by Polaris and manufactured in Fargo, South Dakota since 2011 in the USA! A simple Google search would have prevented you from being "not sure"

While I'm not 100% certain, I believe that GEM carts are all street legal, which means you must register them as motor vehicles and have them insured. You should check with a dealer to verify this, unless you don't mind paying the extra cost.

I remember not buying one, not because of the street legal concerns but the batteries. I've heard they cost about $1500 to $2000 and only last about two years and you only get about 20 miles on a charge. |
