Breakers tripping
Have you noticed the breakers poping are the low level breakers? Here is what you need to do;
Go to Lowes, Ace Hardware or Home Depot and buy a six ft. or longer grounding rod. Pound it into the ground near your electric meter. (You will need a sledge hammer) Connect it to the ground on your electric meter with an appropriate solid copper wire and a wire fitting. When you go to the big box hardware store ask the sales associates what you will need and they will help you out. OR, PLAN B, call an electrician Eaton Corp. came out with solid state breakers a number of years ago. At first, the breakers would pop when running an electric drill or mixer in the home. They are now improved but not to the point that they will not pop when an ultra-high ham radio is being broadcast in your immediate area. National Amateur Radio groups are currently working to encourage Eaton Corp. to eliminate the issue and Eaton Corp has told them there is a newer generation of breaker coming in the future but who knows when. Luck. |

Interesting, we had 1 of the new AFCI breakers in the living room trip for no apparent reason. Wife was watching TV I was in the kitchen, when the entire home entertainment and accent lights went out, but kitchen and other circuits stayed in. Also neighbor across the street had their outside GFCI breaker trip. Keeping an eye on these.

Power in Gilchrist
Do you have a surge protection system? We live in Gilchrist also and had interruptions almost daily until I signed up with SECO for a surge protector. Worked for me. No more outages, but I can't say if your problem is the same.
I agree, though, you should contact home warranty. I was also concerned about how frequently light bulbs burn out. Warranty sent the electrician to check. He said "cheap light bulbs." |
If it is your garage outlets tripping check your outside outlets for an open cover,if the cover is open on one and the sprinklers go on it will trip the GFI and maybe the breaker.

Some one else was right it is called An Arc Fault Breaker I have 119 in this hotel and if you run an electric motor (vac cleaner) it trips. The old ones were worse than the newer ones they look to be ok. Dont confuse these with ground fault breakers not related.
