We were Time Warner Cable customers for over ten years when we moved down here, and have been Comcast customers now for about 1.5 years. Frankly, they seem about the same to me. Very expensive, OK customer telephone support, and long wait times at the office when you are returning non-working equipment for exchange. With the merger, they will become even more expensive.

Comcast is a terrible excuse for cable and customer service. I just switched to Century Link and the new Prism TV and it's perfect. After two years with Comcast, and at the end of my promotion period they raised my rate over 25% so I went shopping.

Century Link offered better service, 290 channels including Showtime and Starz, lifetime free DVR and HD for $45 less money a month, and the price guaranteed for two years. The whole house DVR is great as it's wireless and the internet speed is faster than what I had with Comcast.

I know there will be negative comments out there on this post, but I'm happy I switched and I also receive a $300 VISA card in about 8 weeks which converts to an additional savings of $15 a month over the two year period. They will ALWAYS offer you another deal at the end of the two years.

Century Links service installation was perfect and I have a better quality picture, my same telephone number, and faster internet speed, especially when the TV is off. Check it out.

Guess I should write a letter advising against a Comcast buyout of Time Warner which means worse customer service (God, how can it get any worse) and higher prices. Much like up north when the VT Public Service Board Ok'd Fairpoint to buy Verizon landline services as Verizon wanted 'out of VT'. A dummy could have told you that Fairpoint could NOT afford the deal, which being the rocket scientist that I am (ha,ha,ha) proved out to be correct hence horrible, horrible customer service. We ended up going with the second choice, Comcast for a landline.
