Villages Woodworking Shop - great job!
 

I am so pleased with the results of a small project I took over to the Villages Woodworking Shop. My kitchen wall cabinets have a lower molding to hide under cabinet lights, but that molding hung so low it often got in the way when I reached for cooking utensils (long utensils would bang on the molding) and it also cast a big shadow on the wall behind it which made the kitchen appear darker than I thought it should.

So, I removed the lower molding from all the kitchen wall cabinets, took them over to the Villages Woodworking Shop, had them cut part of the bottom off according to my instructions, and boy what a difference it made. The Shop did an excellent job, and my project was completed in a few days. They disassembled the moldings, cut, reassembled and glued the molding which now look fantastic and work and fit perfectly! They still hide the under cabinet lighting, but don't get in the way. Was so easy to put them back up.

The wood club has a crew of folks who do nothing but special projects like this. They are a very talented group and can do seemingly amazing things with wood. All anybody needs to do is go down to the shop and let them know what you need done. You pay for materials and maybe a small donation if you think their work is deserving.

Thanks for letting the rest of us know about the woodworking shop. I plan on making them my new best friends!!!

Do they build things from scratch like book cases?

I'm sure they would accommodate you. Just go on down to the shop and ask to see somebody from the special projects group, explain what you want and they will let you know if they can do it.
