Turn dog poop into a better lawn!

When i walk my dog Mr Moe at night, I wear my old golf shoes with the metal spikes. After Mr Moe dumps his load i stomp it flat with my metal spike golf shoes, working it into the sod. next I reach into my pocket and drop a handful of grass seed onto the flattened poop, and again work the mixture into the current lawn! mr Moe is happy, I don't need to carry dog poop bags, and the home owner gets a new spot of grass for free! I make everyone happy and feel like Johnny Appleseed!
Soon i hope neighbors will ask for my services!
the Villages Number1 problem is solved!!!!

It was in Monday's Daily Sun, that a resident complained about people not picking-up after their dogs.

Always a poopular thread.

Dog poop is not good fertilizer

A quick web browser search will take you to dozens of sites that will tell you that dog poop is not good lawn fertilizer and is, in fact, a health hazard if left on lawns. Dog poop, unlike cow manure, not only doesn't have the proper nutrients to be beneficial fertilizer, it has the potential for passing a variety of diseases to other dogs and to humans.

Puppies, in particular, are at high risk for being infected with the potentially deadly Parvo Virus.

Further, what kind of grass seeds are you leaving on the lawns of strangers; St. Augustine, Zoysia, Bahia ? All three types can be found in The Villages. Leaving the wrong kind would be unwelcome.

You might want to consider being a good, thoughtful neighbor and pick up after your dog. I'm sure it would be appreciated.

Not a very good idea!!!!!!! That is not good for grass. Especially when your doing it to someone else's lawn."Carl in Tampa" is right when it comes to diseases, not only to dogs, but humans too. Curious where you leave those shoes??? LOL We have a dog, but only poops on our lawn, and we pick up. We have little flags on sticks, so we know where it's at to pick up after bringing dog in. I've heard it all now!!!!! Wow

I will have to do a search on the Snopes Urban Legend site http://www.snopes.com for this or maybe take a pill to see if it looks the same after that!!! I suspect Barefoot is right and the IPO is pulling his dog's leg so to speak.

Jugs on the lawn vs. dogs who need to go.

snopes.com: Water Jars Keep Dogs Off Lawn

Here is a method that might work. :spoken: It would not fly with the Community Watch though. ;)

Everybody knows it's ok to dog poop in the neighbors yard and stomp around in your golf shoes and throw any kind of seeds you want to into it. I've heard that if the human waters the seed, which is easier for a man than a woman to do without getting caught, that the mushroom species that supports larval leprechauns will push themselves up within 3 days. Leprechaun gestation period being 21-27 days, there will be little green people everywhere by St. Patty's day.

OP, thanks for trying to put a bit of humor into a dog poop Thread. Some of the comments have been "over the top" lately. And they have come from dog owners and non dog owners. Both sides need to show a bit more "respect" IMHO.
