Malware?
 

I keep getting a link to download Online Media Pc Tools .
I refuse it and few seconds later it is back.
Can't get rid of it!
I have McAfee installed since day 1, and it shows no threat when I scan,also tried Malwarebytes free edition, no help.
Anyone have any thoughts?

Go to MalwareBytes and get a free download to remove malicious software missed by anti virus. I had 48 objects that needed to be removed. Finds it way onto your computer with other downloads and I run Norton Antivirus all the time.

Until it is downloaded MalwareBytes cannot remove it. There are a few others like deal finder and conduit search that show up uninvited too.

Google how to remove and it will give you the information.

McAfee is not very good. Switch to a Norton version.

Hitman Pro is a second opinion software to remove Malware missed by others. Be sure to download the 32 or 64 bit version that is right for your system..

Just relying on a single vendor is not sufficient to completely protect you. You do need a second source to make sure you are secure. But in most cases, installing a second anti virus program is not a viable solution. Two programs are effecting the performance of the computer dramatically, and sometimes even conflict causing the computer to crash.

Malwarebytes need to be run when the computer is in safe mode to be most effective. When completed delete any malware that was found and reboot the computer into the normal mode.

Virtual Geezer is 100% correct. Without safe Mode, many virus checks are useless. However, if you aren't able to resolve the issue, give us a call.

Search help for restore point. It is a windows program that rolls your computer back. That may help. Do a little reading about it but it should be safe to run. It will probably undo some program updates so you will have to redo these.

I would go to "tools" and select "managed add-ons. See if there is something that was added to your system and disable it.

Then see if the pop-up goes away. It worked for me as some unknown vendor tried to intrilfrate my system and disabling it for me, did the trick.

The link that kept showing up was free download 4 pc spaces so it doesn't show link in blue that isn't the program I was getting,not sure why the forum interjected that site.
I tried several suggestions and last resort was HijackThis.
I believe that I got rid of it by using HijackThis.
Haven't had any issues since then.
