Construction at Odel and Stillwater
Sounds of construction started this morning bright and early and has continued all day. Today, my brother-in-law was walking on Sitllwater and when he came to Odel Circle, he could see there was a huge hole and a lot of water in a back yard of one of the homes. Odel at Stillwater has been blocked off during this construction.
Anyone know what this construction is all about? Thanks. |
Construction or sinkhole?

Just out doing my Murphy's Estate walk and ran into a gentleman who lives there. I did not take notes, but here is the gist:
He could not get over the amount of water that flowed from Odell into his cul de sac. He was happy with the work the people were doing to clean it up so far. I suspect this is why they are flushing some hydrants in the area. Your eyes in Mallory.... |
Thanks for the info. Great to know it is not a sink hole. Also good to know the homeowner is happy with the clean up they are doing.

A little bit west of that location there has been an opening roped off for the longest time. I assumed TV was having some type of problem with a water main but I never saw any work being done. Perhaps this was a precursor to the big break on O'Dell?

I believe it was a sprinkler water main.

Just curious, why all the water main problems in TV? No freezing and thawing to deal with, could it be unstable ground underneath the mains that is causing a collapse/breaks?????

OR . . . Could it be poorly done infastructure on the part of the developer??? I hope not, but, who knows??!? **************** When I see and hear about all the water problems on individual, already built upon lots, my own included, I really question if most of the lots were properly prepared. My opinion is that even with our sand and clay sub-soil, if enough fill had been added to each lot and with a proper swail in between each house, no one would have a retention of water issue -- ever. Properly done, all the water would drain into the swails and out to the street, and not just sit there. |
